This is such an awesome review. Love the breakdown of the different ways it was used and how you edited the mix. Hearing the mic quality on its own is one thing, but seeing how it's actually used to achieve different sounds is soooo helpful! More reviews like this please!
Mine arrives today. Got a good deal on refurb. As $150 mics go... This has to be one of the best USB mics. Stereo seems wonderful on acoustic guitar, I've heard a few examples. It's a cheap but good swiss army knife mic.
Great guitar sound and overall mixing! Great review indeed! Someone finally talk about mid which is so under rated and so important for guitar, especially classical guitar. I am currently using Rode NT USB Mini which is fine so far but it sound a bit boring and want some stereo sound for classical guitar. Do you think this Akg mic will improve mine solo guitar recording?
I have this mic and I’m about to send it back. The mic does sound good but the problem with many of these reviews is that they are done in sound treated rooms. A lot of mics will sound good that way. But when I tried the mic just with the front face on it still picked up a disturbing amount of background noise. And this was noise that was on the quiet side of the mic. It actually did no better then the lapel mic I got with my sermonic. So far I’ve only found one reviewer who tested this mic in a room that wasn’t sound treated and he got the same results I did. It’s unfortunate, but real world people need a mic that deals with background noise and this isn’t it
Really Nice JOB. One question...did u tried to use Akg and an instrument interface like saramonic smartrig II at the same time in garageband? It is possible? You could ger an instrument plugged and a usb microphone...all solved for Basic guitar and vocals... Cheers from Brazil
Do you have some recording specifications (in the room like distance to the microphone; or in the software used) to reach the quality you are showing?. I have problems with the 'Hiss', I'm recording almost inside the closet, between blankets (very humbly jaja) to help avoiding that white noise, but didn't work. Thanksss
You have to make sure that you are recording a strong enough signal. Go to my channel page and search for "Signal Strength" for specific instruction on what levels you want.
I'll never decide what to choose between a USB microphone and an XLR+Audio interface xd There are too many variants, and people always praise one thing or another :(
It really depends on what you can afford. This is a cheap and easy way to get started recording. Obviously with a an interface you have more options, but you will spend more money.
@@IliaTyukavkin Get this mic and a pair of Sony MDR-7506 headphones and you're set to capture your greatness. What's important is your creation that comes from your soul.
I have a really important question: how did you unmount it from the original stand? I tried unscrewing it by hand since it's said to be a thumbscrew, but it's too solid and I'm afraid of breaking it. Does it need some sort of key?
@@prashuryagoswami6122 thanks bro, i will go for dynamic mic then, if u thought i waited for 5 months just to get reply.. its a yes.. i did wait for ur answer. but then kept all those ideas for few days so i am focussing on studies.. perfect time perfect answer.. i was about to purchase this next week thanks!!

For 125 bucks? Awesome
Where did you get it for 125?
But why those it picks up all my pop n noise from my mouth making my recording sound horrible. What can I do using that mic ?
Best reviewer + best review on this mic, I just got it! Thank you!
I kept listening to you not for the review, but to listen to your creative singing. I enjoyed it quite a bit. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for making these videos. Always informative!
This mic sounds incredible!
Yes, you can! Great work, love your videos Lewin, thanks so much. Lovely demo.

I was this close to getting the blue yeti pro but if I can save $100 then why not.
Thanks for this review. It helped me with my decision... purchased!
Got the Lyra and a pair of AKG K371s for 228USD. Would never have dreamt of this kind of quality for that kind of price!
Your videos are so helpful man! Thank you! I’m really interested in checking a usb mic for voiceover stuff so this is super helpful!
Came for mic review... stay for wonderful song...
Incredibly useful review! Thanks a lot.
Quality content after so many days
Nicely done ❤️❤️
Awesome review. Thanks for the video. You put lot of Hardwork. 👍👍
Great video! I need a usb mic to record my upright piano in stereo for solo piano tracks. I think this wide stereo will work perfect. Thanks!

I'm definitely thinking of getting this microphone for my TH-cam videos.
As with all mics, the USB mic certainly has a place in my tool bag. I use USB mics to record covers for my YT page at times.
Could we get a mp3 file so I could listen to the sound QUALITY?
Great video 👏👏
excuse me, could you tell me Wich is better for singing:
The AKG Lyra or the Shure mv51?? Thanks!

Thank you Harman for this review. Have you also used the mic in a mobile setting, i.e. connected to your smartphone? Any suggestions most welcome.
Nice Lil Song, and i should record more with my Lyra and grageband.
Thanks

Get a pop filter!
Have you tried out the PreSonus Revelator? came out a week ago?
Nic reviews bro 😊
Can you give me tips to record the piano using this microphone please?
Sounds very good. Would be nice to hear an acoustic piano.
Mine always sounds like high pitched voice out of the box.
Please do a comparison video. In Amazon India Rode mini is selling at ₹10,999($150) while AKG Lyra is selling at ₹9,799($134). Which is better mic?
hello nice review.. do you prefer this Lyra or AKG p120 ??
very good sounding.
How many channels can be recorded at the same time? Or just mono?
Can I plug multiple AKG Lyra into 1 computer?
How it works for recroding electric guitar via amp?
Just out of curiosity: why didn’t you use a pop filter?
Love your content. Thx.

No key, it sounds like yours is a little stuck. Perhaps gently use some pliers to get it off. Left loosey, righty tightey!
