Honestly after what happened last year, seeing Miss Universe Philippines entering the Semi's would bring back the fire to every Filipino's heart.

Thank you for having Miss Jamaica in your semis. I agree with you that she will make it to the next round but I have her in the top 5 based on the attention the actual pageant has given her in their promos. The same attention was given to Demi from SA in 2017 and she went on to win the crown, so people need to pay better attention to the details. Also, her wardrobe is from a local designer and they are planning a major splash but we will see.
My top 5 this year is Thailand, France, USA, Puerto Rico and Nicaragua.

Thailand can win if she drops that “giving back to the community” and “taking up space” and “be yourself”narratives. And you are right Dani, she has to own her answers.
This year's pageant could be won by Thailand or Nicaragua. Good to see countries with rare placements pull this off...
I actually miss the old elimination system of the contest, it brings more adrenaline watching a "competition", instead of the drastic elimination from top 20 to top 5. I also like the IMG's continental selections, it guarantees at least one country per continent to become a semifinalist. If I was the organizer, I'd subdivided the competition into T20, T12, T6 & T3.
Miss Pakistan had her training in the Philippines. She wore her national attire in an interview where she talked about her being the first from her country to join MU, her inspiration Catriona and her connection with the Philippines. She is a good communicator responding confidently well in English.
Do you think Pakistan not accepting her as their Miss Pakistan could effect her placement? I think she is a great candidate with a lot of potential.

@@TheKrystle, that remains to be seen. It all boils down to how well she will perform during the interviews, the preliminary and the finals. I hope MU org under the new management would be apolitical so all the ladies will be in an even playing field.

@@dcain75 you mean doubt. Me too. That same doubt was there when Jamaica competes in track and field. I think being the underdog is good for the surprise factor of when she gets placed and that would even make the pageant compelling and more interesting to watch this year.
@jamaicansinger-queenla7656 I mean drought. In the last decade Jamaica has placed 5 times reaching the top 5 twice. They were robbed in 2017 with Davina Bennet finishing 3rd. It is long overdue for the country to win. I think Dr. Levy will do it.

I heard that this year, manners are bigger factor than they’ve ever been before. It’s only been three days, but apparently, there’s been several favorites who have shown some unpleasantries, and the org does not take it lightly. Don’t be surprised to see some bigger names left out in semifinals.

I didn't know that Celeste didn't come strong in live audience. Hearing it from you made me think that it was a just result and that she was drowned by other ladies that really performed better in prelim. On tv, she was ok. But if u say she wasn't as strong as expected in live then maybe that was the reason. The other judges might have felt the same.
We didn't see interview either so who knows how that went, but in the audience she felt very low energy in comparison to others.
She was okay but okay is not enough. Her MUPH walk was so much better
I totally agree that if ever there was a chance for USA to win back to back, this is the year!!! Last year, R’Bonney had 2 big pageant countries rooting for her in USA & Philippines AND I think that was the key! This year, Noelia has USA & Venezuela, again 2 pageant powerhouse countries rooting for her and I believe this is the best chance USA has ever had for B2B wins!!!! BTW, last year, I chose R’Bonney as the winner UPON INTRODUCTION before top 20 was announced & I did it again this year with Noelia!!!!! The one for USA to watch out for…FRANCE with her short witty answers!!!

The thing with Philippines she grow surrounded by showbiz personalities including her family members & she’s an actress so we know she’s used to the stage and interviews. Michelle has an air or snake walk…… she’s very intelligent and being an actress she’ll slay the close door interview….. she has beauty, grain, styling, her hello universe has 7 million views. She follows the advice of her mom. She’s manifesting the 5th crown on her head for our country. Manifestation is real.
I believe the USA has very close the opportunity to make history by obtaining a B2B. She is stunning! Fingers crossed 🤞

I've always been confused as to how members of the MISSU board help pick the winner. If it isn't just the judges, then do the final scores matter? Are the members getting to score the girls off screen or do they just each vote for who of the top 3/5 they think deserves the crown?
It's usually members or the MU organization the ones that have the final say .
when you said “money is not the root of all evil but greed is” I’m just like I never thought of it like that.
For Celeste, I think the main reason for her unplacement is due to her lack of communication skills and it probably showed in her closed door interview. Nowadays, MU really focuses on advocacies as well as comm skills and when it comes to a closed door interview, Michelle Dee has it all in the bag. But, I do agree with the performance aspect of it but I just think they take into account more of the speaking aspect rather than performance and proof of that was when Canada placing last year.
Don't worry Michelle gonna place! It's just that there's an iffy thing about her being good in evening gown or just overdo it and mess up things so, might not go further.
It wasn't about communication skills why Celeste Cortesi was unplaced last year lol. The Miss Universe Organization made the hardest decision to eliminate the South East Asian frontrunners Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia because of the new era and transition of the owner from IMG to JKN. However, Celeste Cortesi's preliminary performance was weaked and not like her MUPH performance. But her communication skills are great except for her credentials and advocacy. I think her advocacy was inherited or adopted and already established. MUO's looking for authentic and solid advocacy.
Miss Spain does speak english very well. She is in fact the first Spanish-african to ever win a Miss Spain contest in history. Her dad is Spanish and her mom is African from Guinea equatorial

Dani I am from rural India ....I have a feeling of miss india 1 ) she is not from rich and sophisticated family her father left her at the very little age actually she is a single mother's daughter 2) her advocacy is atmanirvarbharat that's means she wants to find talent in little children belonging to the illiterate ,poor side of India and she wants to employ her talent ( dancing) as a way ,as a representation of those hidden talents in india especially in young growing girls ..her state is ( chandigarh) is very restricted and conservative about woman ,harnazz also belongs to the same area 3) she herself choreographed miss Diva in 2020 ( most probably) when adline won ...after seeing those girls in miss Diva her passion grew up to represent India at international peagent 4) Her passion towards dance is unbelievable you can see that from her movements 5) her actual desire is to give her family a beautiful life through her talent ....and I think she is transformational leader ....you can see her at Zoom interview ...she is way ahead of other indian girls wearing this indian sash absolutely yes even far ahead of Harnazz ..and a funny thing is she was selected by Harnazz herself in miss Diva though Srinidhi was there also...

For me, Nicaragua is perfect but almost too much, like Venezuelan’s queens 5 years ago when they were photocopied and didnt win anything.
I dont get the hype for France although i live in Paris lol but she is well prepared and remind me of Iris, so maybe she will win ?
Thaïland remind me of Catriona in the way she sooo prepared, seen everywhere, hard to beat but i hope she wont freeze in the final night !
Puerto Rico and USA should round my top 5 . India, Philippines, Venezuela, Colombia are just non factors to me. They bring compétition but wont hurt no one.

MU is a business. If they don't fix the winner(the rumors are in that direction), Puerto Rico should be the winner. She is very commercial and sets perfectly on what the owner of the org said about what they are looking for

This year, there's a lot of excellent speakers and candidates with great advocacy and winner aura. I hope MU doesn't select (strategically) some less great speakers alongside great speakers in the top 5/10 so that the favorite gets a bigger chance of winning. This has happened before..
