Thank you for this video Andre! I just asked you about this on another one of your videos - here you gave me my answer 😁👍 I’m definitely going for the MBZ 170 HR/EXT. Once I find and purchase my van, I’ll email you for an application. Safe travels, God bless!
But it's not 192" long inside and not all vans are 72" tall in the rear door opening. I'll trade the caddy ride feel for the mpg sprinters get and loading floor space. My escalade at home gets me the cadillac ride feel.
Awesome vids Andre, I'm trying to learn a lot. I'm changing careers after 30 years of being a carpenter. I figure it's time to get out and see the country like I've always wanted to. And be my own boss again. Question for you though I'm in Oregon near Salem. How much regional work has there been? I'm willing to travel long distance but I want to ease my way into this
OR sucks, being regional is going to be a waste of time and energy for you and us as a dispatcher. Need to go out clear lots of miles and make money that way. Regional or local on west coast is NOT going to make you enough money for this to be worthwhile.
Hi Andre, I’m enjoying your video’s, and I’m learning a lot. I do have a question for you. Have you ever seen or considered a roller bed floor for your van? I’ve seen them in other videos and it seems like something to consider, especially for moving pallets around your unit. Share your thoughts with me. Keep up the good work.
Pallets have no issue sliding in and out of my van just as is. Don't see any reason at all to add anything that's rolling. That's one more thing to worry about breaking or going out of order in my opinion. Been doing this for 8 yrs and never needed a roller style flooring or system.
I have a “PENDING” business funding deal that my business associate is doing through my business funding resources and he’s using his EXCELLENT personal credit to get the business term loan (up to $300k) to help me get a 2021 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cargo Van 170 WB, 4 cyl - 2 liter Diesel Engine, NO DEF, the color is “Artic White” the van cost $54,900 so with the APPROVAL of the business term loan, I should be getting a quote of what he’s APPROVED for hopefully by tomorrow and plus he’s got his own USDOT & MC trucking authority and the commercial insurance. I told him I got the RTS Titan Diesel Fuel card ($2000 available business credit) and I’m going to sign on with several OTR Expediting carriers that’ll keep me running till 2023. I just can’t wait 🙌🏼 I need to see what your company offers for freight
We dont work with drivers who want to work with multiple dispatchers. But if you want to join the Eagle team once you have the van in hand you can email us for an application.
Thank you for all the good information. What about payloads capacity? It seems a little disproportionate to get the longest, the tallest sprinter van with the lowest payload capacity to save on diesel consumption… could you give us some info on how important is weight capacity? Thank you.
Beautiful. I own a 16 ft flatbed F650 with a strong CAT engine , fits up to 8 pallets do you think it's a good idea to start expediting in it or is it even possible to work with your dispatch in this kind of truck ?
Expediting is done in cargo vans. Flat bed won't work plus mpg in that truck vs cargo van pay won't be worth it. There's a certain standard that needs to be met, needs to be a cargo van like you see in the video thumbnail
Just bought a used 2015 Freightliner 2500 170” WB. Hoping it gets delivered within the next two weeks! I’m ready to hit the roads! Thank you for your videos! Planning to build a storage box and swing down bed to get me started. Also installing e track right on top of floor. Then hooking up with Red next year for full sleeper/comfort remodel! Your advice is appreciated! Would love videos of oil change and sprinter self maintenance guidance.
👍 great job explaining. Ford has the extended T 250& 350 172 long. What about the dually vs singles, any difference? Does color really matter because most of them are white? Also Awd vs Rwd does any difference?
Color does not matter, and rwd is best for fuel economy. Winter is only 4 months out of the year and not even in many states, none of our drivers have AWD. It's just a waste of extra money for that model and fuel economy is gone.
Hey man, liking your content. You are straight forward and it doesn't go unnoticed. I'm doing the research now and looking at Mercedes Sprinter high 170 WB High roof 2.0 4cyl turbo diesel for down here in TX What is the proper insurance coverage I should get starting out?
Im about to buy the same sprinter that you have, Will you only work with drivers who prefer OTR or can I work with you if Im willing to only travel to states that border me here in Illinois?
I've taken full loads plenty of times. Another reason is to have room for your bed and all your belongings. Drivers live in the van for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. Must be comfortable with lots of room. And ask any driver we take 3 pallets and more plenty of time. And 3rd reason is that's our company minimum standard, to have at least 144 inches of cargo space.
My egr, dpf and Def are all deleted. I don't Deal with those issues. But you can take the egr cover off and use break cleaner and spray it in there and clean it out. I'm sure you can TH-cam how to do that and there will be videos in case you don't know how to.
Im talking to a company right now..if i get my own van it pays between 80 cents to $1.00 a mile..ill have van payments, insurance, fuel, food cost. She said 1,000-3,000 miles a week..does this sound worth it to go in debt?
There only 2 models in the sprinters. The 3.0L V6 and the 4 cylinder 2.0 these days. Both are good. If you mean by sprinter and are talking about other makes and models of vans they are not sprinters. Only a sprinter is a sprinter.
Donht understand the dodge rampromaster aka citroen relay Peugeot boxer fiat ducato range over this size of the the pond has a L4, H3 version so you not get this model as it is longer and has a higher GWO then merc sprinters
54 inches sounds sweet! More than enough for a husband-wife team which describes my situation. What I'd really like to see, however, is a set-up where the bed lifts up in the direction of the ceiling rather than folds up along the side panel or behind the seat. That would allow freight to be loaded under the bed platform. Even with a full load my co-driver could sleep (in this case, my wife) while I continued to drive and vice versa. We could keep rolling 24/7; which is how we roll today. Just a thought at this point, but I want to pursue it.
Very durable. Add e track slots to the sides of the van wall and door. Then the brackets that hold 2x4 e track type and put plywood on top of them and you can adjust the height any way you want and sleep above the freight. It's easy.

Do i need my own authority and mc number if I'm working for a company? Or is that only necessary if I'm running under my own company name? How can I get a sprinter with business credit if u just established an LLC?
You can get it in a personal name of business is too new. You do not need an MC or dot number for cargo van operations. I have a separate video on that subject.
Average $1 per mile. Sometimes less if driver is in a tough area like CA, FL, TX, NC, SC. As far as gross everyone's gross is different because that depends on how much all night driving you can handle. In the end its all up to how much non stop driving a driver can drive comfortably.
My light comes and goes. It's an issue with the programming when it was completely deleted by the previous owner. Need to reprogram it. But it's been on and off since the day I purchased it. I know what the issue is and it does not affect the performance.

Yes because freightliner makes a sprinter as well
i would like insulate my sprinter , any ideas Foam sheets or spray
I'd just do foam sheets. I sprayed mine but it creates warping in sheet metal when foam gets in tight places and expands.
Do you recommend getting a high roof extended or normal sprinter?
Only the longest and tallest. 170wb extended high roof.
Fasten your seatbelt!!!
