    Beautiful 😍🤗 when you first started painting, what was the thing you had most trouble learning IE: The sky, foliage, water...? For me it's the foliage and highlighting. 🤔

    I actually have 2 questions. The 1st one being when you first went over to the trees and painted in the sky behind the trees, were you still using the Mars black and the primary blue? Because it looks like it has a glitter in it. Secondly, you stated that you started out with a fairly damp brush to extend the life of the paint, and I was just wondering if you ever used any type of mediums with paint extenders in them, instead of water, that will extend the life of the paint as well, and wouldn't that give you more vibrant colors where the binders in the paint won't be broken down but just takes longer to dry? If you ever do use one of those mediums common do you have a particular 1 that you prefer? And I'm waiting to hear your answer to someone's question the low that ask you about heavy body paints versus soft body paints and what kind you like to use. :) I absolutely love your 10 minute paintings! I also Gray with a comment below that you have such a calm voice. You should be recording that voice and selling it for people that have trouble sleeping! Lol you could just be telling them you're walking down the beach, barefoot and you can feel the sand between your toes, and there is a gentle breeze so you can feel your hair is blowing in the wind, and you take a breathe in, and as you breathe out your body relaxes even more! Lol. It noces therapy for people who can't sleep! You can make a lot of money! Lol

      Can I get an answer to my questions?

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I was painting around the trees I was using a mixture of primary blue and mars black. The 'glitter' was actually just the wet paint reflecting in the pattern of the tooth of the canvas :) I actually don't use any additional mediums when working with acrylic paints. I like to make these 10 minute lessons as simple and accessible as possible. In regards to the paints bonding, I've never personally had an issue with it :)
      I'm filming a Q&A in the next week and will include a little talk on heavy body/non heavy body paints. Thank you for the sweet comments, they made me smile!

    Gesso. Is it needed? I know there's white but can I make a black gesso? Bob Ross uses a liquid black just a thought

    Hi there, thank you for the great videos. Im part of your patreon but find the site hard to navigate, this could be because i only use my phone.....no computer.
    My question is do you use soft or hard acrylics??? Im guessing hard but would really like to know. What brand do you prefer?
    Ty😊

    What do you use to sketch on canvas with? Any certain pencil?

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! When using canvas board I generally do the sketch with colored pencil to assign varying subjects. I then go back over the foreground with a fine tipped sharpie. I can normally see the sketch through the first couple layers and neither of the products ever seem to blend into the pigment like a graphite/charcoal would. I hope that helps :)

    How do you decide on what to paint and where do you get your subjects from I'm amazed
