People complain hes not accurately in his look or sound but its not supposed to be a spot on impression its taking those little bits of the person and exaggerating them to hell! And he does that beautifully!!
From her comments, Peggy was both appalled and amused by her many impersonators. A friend who saw Jim Bailey do her on T.V. and didn't get it called her and asked her if she was feeling okay! In person Peg was this mixture of matchless artist, unbelievably vivid personality, spellbinding singer and total eccentric. Try to capture THAT! I think a lot of impersonators came close! Certainly Mr. Russell did.
Ingenius. Utterly and tragically underrated and I feel he is a comedy and cabaret legend in his own right.
This cracks me up more and more everytime I watch it! What a loss to lose Craig Russell! Funny funny funny!
The way he moves his hands is hypnotising !!!!!!!!!!!

Peggy Lee saw Craig Russell and said, it's like a mirror that is not working right......

I came here to comment. But I already did three years ago
Matchless. He extracted every possible joke he could with those atrociously flouncy electric blue sleeves.
Peggy Lee was my mothers favorite . Peggy Lee of course . Craig Russell is mine ;) .
I saw Mr. Russell at Massey Hall in '78. Spellbinding and absolutely hilarious!
