Wow what a genius! Great humour and a sense of fun from this child prodigy almost equal to Mozart. His tragic early death has robbed us of a genius of composer to challenge Beethoven and Schubert. I can hear Gluck’s high praise for Erbel’s music ❤it .
In newspapers "Augsburgische Ordinari Postzeitung" (24. März 1807.): "Vienna, March 16th. On the 11th of this year the famous composer and pianist Anton Eberl died here in his 41st year. The richness, depth and fullness of his compositions have been decided by the critics; but how excellent his heart was, how bright his mind, how unpretentious his behavior was, is something that those who knew him and loved and valued in him both the person and the artist know. He was only 14 years old when, from the fullness of his genius, he composed the first fiery opera, which even Christoph Willibald Gluck admired"! Bellissima Tempo di marcia, allegro agitato 5:28
He was a pupil and friend of Mozart, some of his compositions were even published under Mozart's name. On Mozart's death (1791), Eberl composed the funeral cantata Bey Mozarts Grab for the death of his teacher. At the beginning of the 19th century, he was considered an important competitor of Beethoven.
Mozart's widow, Constanze Mozart, was understandably keen to have the incomplete work, Reqviem 1791., completed so as not to have to pay back the advance payment and to receive the second half of the purchase price (Count Franz von Walsegg). She therefore commissioned other composers, mostly Mozart's students, to complete it. She initially turned to Joseph Eybler. He worked on the instrumentation of the movements from the Dies irae to the Lacrimosa, but then returned the commission for unknown reasons. He wrote his additions directly into Mozart's autograph score. The requiem was completed by Franz Xaver Süßmayr (70%), Joseph Leopold Eybler! First page of the “delivery score” in Mozart’s handwriting. Top right is the signature “di me W. A. Mozart mppr. 1792" (di me = "by me", mppr. = manu propria, handwritten), which according to manuscript analyses was forged by Süßmayr.

Está obra tiene inicio beethoveniano
Admirable sinfonía, del gran Eberl. Sus cuartetos para cuerdas son sublimes.

@@stefanstamenic3640 Mozart's Requiem is remarkable in many ways, quite powerful.
