I have not heard of this composer before but Wow! What a great symphony with plenty of the Viennese Maestro energy and guile. Shame he died young or he could have been up there with his friend Ludwig Van. I shall add that CD to my collection I like CPO records ❤thank you Pau

Extraordinary. Excellently performed. The list of his students - shows that Salieri - directed music towards new horizons:
    • Marianna Auenbrugger
    • Ludwig van Beethoven
    • Antonio Casimir Cartellieri
    • Carl Czerny
    • Johann Nepomuk Hummel
    • Franz Liszt
    • Giacomo Meyerbeer
    • Ignaz Moscheles
    • Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart
    • Maria Theresia von Paradis
    • Franz Schubert
    • Franz Xaver Süssmayr
    • Ignaz Umlauf
    • Joseph Weigl
    • Peter Winter
Salieri learned through two schools: Giuseppe Tartini, Padre Giovanni Battista Martini; Florian Leopold Gassmann and Gluck.

Forgotten. Dieter Klöcker (1936- 2011) clarinetist known for rediscovering many forgotten composers of the 18th century, for example, Cartellieri. In 1795, the premiere of the Cartellieri symphony in C minor, oratorio "Gioas re di Giuda" was held in the Burgtheater in Vienna. During the break, Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 2; it was the first Beethoven work performed in public in Vienna. Lobkovitz, who was so impressed by Kartellieri's symphony in C minor that he offered him the position of chief composer at court (he did not offer Beethoven). By the way Count Oborsky is - illegitimate son - Count Michał Kazimierz Ogiński (1728-1800).

Kon-nichi-wa. I didn't realize that this is a Taiwanese orchestra until you mentioned it. Yes, it's great that they perform the work of a lesser-known composer such as Cartellieri . Sadly this hardly happens in North America.🙁

" The young Cartellieri and Beethoven ( 23 and 25 years old respectively! 😲) performed together in one of the “Academy-concerts” of the prince on the 29th and 30th of March 1795 in the Burgtheater for the benefit of the widows of the Tonkustlergesellschaft. The vocal work selected was Antonio Casimir Cartellieri’s oratorio in two parts: “Gioas, Re di Giuda.” ( Source : Research Catalogue ) th-cam.com/video/OQQdWo2CcpQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KMJ3FBf8sEoB67dG I'm thrilled just to imagine this benefit concert by two young genius!

Composer Florian Gassmann, who was a musical icon of Vienna came up with the idea to found a "society to help musicians" and it was founded in 1771, "Tonkunstler-Societat" (1771-1939) in 1939., Hitler abolished it. Its purpose was to “support retired musicians and their families; as well as widows and their children". The society was financed by charity concerts and donations; they were especially known for performing oratorios. The first donation for Gasman's society was made by Marija Teresija 500 ducats and her son 200 ducats. The members: Gassmann, Hasse, Bono, J.Haydn, Salieri, Albrechtsberger, Martinez, Ditersdorf, Paul Wranitzky, Franz Süssmayr, Kožulah, Cartellieri, Vogler,..., Beethoven - perform their oratorios; and baroque works were also performed: Handel and &. It is interesting that A.Mozart performed his "secondary" works there, in order to promote those works, but he did not become a member of this - super important "syndicate" - for a bizarre reason; to become a member you had to submit a BAPTISM CERTIFICATE, Amadeus was asked twice to bring a baptismal certificate from Salzburg, but he did not submit it (without it you could not become a member). In 1791. Amadeus died, Konstac's and the children could not get financial help from this society!

Hi thanks for uploading a composition of this young-died talented composer of Viennese style taste (this is a crisp late "sturm und drang" piece).
Out of curiosity the CD with his symphonies brings their number to 4, not 3.
I also found a CD with Divertimenti and an Oratorio on Nativity of JC.
Pity died so young as his music would have certainly evolved from Haydn to LvB follower

He is not a national polish componist! The name is Italian, the city of Danzig was a german speaking city! He is born in the time, when poland was a multiculural country!
