Gokaiger and Mebius are what in my opinion are the two best places to start Tokusatsu in general, on Sentai and Ultraman's side of things at least. They are both solid stories on their own but incorporates characters and stories of previous seasons as both are anniversary seasons. From watching both you learn of the history of both shows and could allow you to pick on what you should watch next.
I’ve already finished both Gokaiger and Goseiger atm, and I’m currently watching Shinkenger, Go-Onger, Zyuranger, Fiveman, Jetman, Ohranger, Gorenger, etc. for the Super Sentai side of things atm
Kiramager truly does have everything that makes a great Sentai. It puts the "fun" in "fundamentals". Why did I say that? Because I think that Sentai is a "back to basics" season, but it doesn't feel cliched. It has everything you could expect from a good Sentai tbh.
Timeranger is the first Sentai I've ever watched fully all 51 episodes and the vs movie and it is so damn good I've also watched Kyuranger but haven't completed it fully yet only have about 8 episodes left but those 2 I'd have to highly recommend as a good starting point
My first sentai was Zyuranger 20+ years after watching MMPR and boy was that an experience. All these characters that I knew, but now they're all called something else and exist in a different context altogether.
Megaranger is a great for MMPR fans as it somewhat has the same set up as that show(almost feeling like a Sentai version of MMPR), it's about a group of highschoolers being given digital powers by Inet to fight virus monsters. It's got a fun cast of characters and episodes, and its final arc is a legitimate tearjerker
Idk if I'm kinda late, but if you like dark plots you can start watching based on eras Showa era: Bioman, Liveman. Heisei: Jetman, Dairanger, Timeranger, Gaoranger, Kyuranger Reiwa: Well Reiwa haven't gone the dark route plot but hope there will be one soon.
Well, Zyuranger wasn't the first USA introduction for Toku. The USA network aired voice dubbed episodes of Dynaman. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously and only lasted 7 episodes. It was referred to as a dubbed parody using original footage but the English overdub was meant to be comical. This was back in 1987.
I just started Super Sentai with Magiranger since I love Mystic Force. It's a great season to start with, especially with all the great character dynamics. I'd definitely recommend that as a starter season as well.
Kakuranger is literally my favorite thing ever, I love Gokaiger also, Jetman is cool cuz well Gai ofcourse, Flashman is cool Dai is best cuz of his brass knuckles. Dynaman is the oldest I've seen,I like it too can be slow but the amount of explosions that happen constantly will keep u awake. I'm currently watching Lupinranger VS Patranger and damn is it cool.
Some Super Sentai shows were aired in other countries like Brazil, France and the Philippines during the late 80's and early 90's. Our country the Philippines had the privilege of watching GoRanger, JAKQ, Goggle V, Bioman, Maskman, Turboranger, Fiveman and Jetman.

Gokaiger is an amazing starting point, but I'd say the absolute best for someone getting into Sentai, would be Akibaranger, an "Unofficial" sentai but probably the biggest love letter to it. Plus it has the "American Powerful Rangers" the thing that cemented my love of Sentai
My first Sentai has to be Dairanger or Kakuranger. I'm super happy Super Sentai has blazed a looong trail in Tokusatsu that will burn for years time come!
ALRIGHT SO THIS IS AN UNPOPULAR ONE BUT. I highly HIGHLY recommend ToQger! It’s very underrated. It has awesome train fights! The main gimmick of the Sentai not only being trains but also that the team members can SWAP colors around. Which is why they go by numbers instead of colors. So red can turn green and green can turn yellow and so on. But it has an amazing cast of characters that feel like they’re all actually friends that would do anything for each other. Their 6th is a great character as well. AND THE VILLAINS OH THE VILLAINS. They’re so good because 90 percent of the time they’re just in-fighting and trying to sabotage each other. The suits for the villains are also the coolest I’ve ever seen in a Sentai. The connection between the villain and the red is also SUPER interesting. The cast and their friendship will grab you by your throat and won’t let go. The ending WILL make you cry. If you know, you know.
I have watched about 20 shows in the Super Sentai Series so far over the years and it's a really series. But now I have decided to start at the beginning with Go Ranger and watch/rewarch every sentai up to this point.
