Hi, I really appreciated your video. I liked many of your tips and I did subscribe. I totally relate to some of the reasons why you went to a recumbent bike. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this video, and also for subscribing! I hope that my channel continues to bring value in some way! Please leave any comments, or any of your thoughts that you think might be helpful to others in the recumbent trike community! -Blessings, GG
My wife Jo has had 2 heart attacks major in 2019 then minor in 2021. She is a type 2 diabetic and fell of her last bicycle and broke 4 ribs so we understand your change in cycles😊👍
HI, BJ and Jo! For some reason, YT held a group of comments "for review" and I just saw it there! So sorry for the delay getting back to you guys. I am so glad that Jo is such a warrior woman, and made it through those heart attacks and rib fractures (so very painful). I had a bike accident and fell off my last 2 wheeler and broke my left tibia and tore two knee ligaments as well. The sense of well-being, safety, and comfort on a recumbent can't be beat! --Blessings, GG
Hello and Thank you for developing a TH-cam Channel geared towards female recumbent trike riders. I have been riding recumbent trikes for about 9 years now, but my wife was a holdout until this year. I will definitely guide her towards your channel. Keep on Triking!
This coming Spring (2024) will actually be here first ride. She and my 34 year old son went together to purchase a Catrike Max. The Max is set up to adjust to each one's height needs. It also has a Bosch mid-drive motor for assistance. I'm hoping she falls in love with triking and wants to join me in my future rides.
I have a feeling she will! I am glad the boom has been set for her! Mine also was set by Utah Trikes, but was still a bit too long. We readjusted that. Have drinks and healthy snacks handy...ride where there are restrooms along the path. Take breaks often initially...My husband suggested getting the shorter cranks, which has been a huge help. Pick a great weather day, and stop for lunch!--GG
Thank YOU! So appreciate the encouragement! Everyone: Please check out BJ and Jo's excellent recumbent riding videos on their TH-cam channel at th-cam.com/channels/mXuv1IOKDvklx_GiIXfIyw.html
The ability to communicate on the trail (without having to yell to your riding partner) really makes for a more positive ride in many ways. What do you like about the earpiece?
Thanks again for more valuable information and ideas for us recumbent trike riders. I'm still "doing time" on my Greenspeed GT20 trike. What a blast! At 81, I still enjoy riding a two-wheel upright older Trek 800 Sport for shorter neighbourhood jaunts. The Greenspeed is definitely for longer rides and the mountains. Life is good. 😊
YOU are an inspiration to me! I love that you are out riding on both! They are a blast, aren't they? That's a perfect word to describe it. And yes, life IS good! Where is your favorite place to ride? --GG
I have two favourite ride areas here in Colorado Springs. One is the paved Cottonwood Creek rec path that goes from Powers Boulevard Southwest to Nevada avenue. It passes through Cottonwood Park which is a joy to ride circles in and just gape at the surrounding scenery. 2nd is the frontage road area that is north of woodman road going East from marksheffel to the town of falcon. There is a lot of small acreage homes north of the frontage road. Very little traffic in this area where you can ride quietly for miles.
Sounds like some great areas to ride! We did not make it down to Motorless Mornings at GoGs Getting ready for another surgery--trying to stay healthy, so did not want to ride when it was that chilly. 😥 --Blessings for a great day!
Good Morning! For some reason, YT held many comments for review and I just found them. All were kind and thoughtful except one. I don't know why they were held. Well, I FOUND them and hopefully replied to all! I so appreciate your interesting comments. And, thank you for keeping it kind and respectful to others. That is becoming a rarity in life these days! Blessings for a wonderful day...and stay safe out there! -GG 😊
I found out I have to have two month’s history before I can get clickable links listed in YT. However, I can give you the name of the lumbar cushion… I got it from Amazon and it’s by a company called Relax Support. The model number is RS7 - X Lumbar Support Pillow in black. Make sure it has the back strap that does help keep it where I want it… The seat cushion I purchased at Walmart. I have actually purchased two that I really like. They are both called, “Auto Drive Seat Cushion” & those would be located in the automotive section of Walmart. I purchased both in black to match my seat. One has a little opening cut out for the sacroiliac joint and one does not. I love them both! I sure hope this helps! 🥰👍
Hello! I just discovered your channel. Love your hacks! My husband & I are 76 and ride Catrikes with Bosch motors. I like the looks of your fat tad Sunseeker. Looks comfy. Have you heard of the Sena helmets with the built in intercoms? We have them and love the fact that we can communicate while riding! Again, thanks for the hacks & suggestions! Very nice video.
Thanks, Joanne! There are not a lot of recumbent trike videos on TH-cam for women...so I thought I would create one. Fat Tad CSX trikes are very comfy...at least to my husband and myself. We live in a rural area and need the fat tires for the dirt and gravel roads. I am just recovering from having half a lung removed, so we'll see how comfortable my trike is on the trail soon...The Sena helmets are awesome! They are just way out of our price range. The walkie talkies are wonderful, and cost just over $10 each...and the shoulder mics were two for $9.99! Used them for years now without a problem. Communication while riding is so convenient and really a safety measure as well! Can you guys still ride this winter where you are? Have a great week-end and be safe out there! Blessings, GG
@@TrikeTalkin our Sena helmets were a gift from my daughter & son-in-law. If they ever become nonfunctional we may have to resort to your solution. It sure seems to work well. We live in Little Elm, Texas which is the north Dallas area. We are near Frisco. It turned cool & wet, so we have not ridden much in the last two weeks. I am suffering with an unexplained back issue right now. Extreme pain & muscle spasms. The meds the doctor prescribed are not helping. I pray that I can get this resolved so we can ride again in the near future! Looking forward to more of your videos.
OH, Joanne.....I hear you! I have a history of low back injuries from nursing, and I know I have a narrowed opening at L-4 and L-5. A year and a half a go, we took a long road trip to visit family in Indiana. 2 long days there, three shorter days back. My seat belt kept tightening down too tight. I-70 potholes were frequent, and unavoidable at times. It felt like each bad bump, the shock would go up my spine. Long story short, the morning after we arrived I was hit with excruciating ("10 out of 15") electrical, shock like spasming pain deep in my right glute near my piriformis muscle. It happened all day on and off out of the blue. Nothing I could do helped it. It was awful. Went to the ER and they worked my up for a kidney stone, which it was not and I knew that. Got into the ortho doc when I got home. Have been to a back doc who sent me to a hip doc who sent me to another back doc. PT made it worse. The pain has settled down after months of me having to do work-arounds and be inactive. Ice for 20 minutes wrapped in a towel was the only thing I found that could settle it down. Meds worthless as you said. I had to sell my bikes cause I can no long sit straight up. That's when I found recumbents and my trike does not bother it much. I carry an ice back on my trike always! I hope you find out what is wrong. I still have PTSD about this. When I had my lung lobe removed, I told EVERYONE how to position me with care, because I was afraid they would do something to set it off again. All the best and praying you find out what is happening and it can be taken care of in some way. My heart goes out to you....Blessings and prayers, GG
Hello dear friend! I am Juselino from Brazil don't worry with me okay I ridden by bike a long time and I travels more time I'm sorry for you surgery I love yours videos! Happiness to you thank you so mach bye bye
