    I love the explanation of the difference in the classical VS bluegrass strings. I didn’t know that.

      Ya, it's not a hard fast rule but as a general rule, fiddlers prefer the louder more aggressive steel core strings.

    I never realized the bridge could be a different radius than the fingerboard. Interesting. . Just subscribed. Thanks!

    Very interesting! I recently started learning because I love fiddle music, but there are only classical violin lessons in my area (though my teacher has been good when I bring in folk pieces!). I'd love an in-depth breakdown about transitioning how you play between the two "styles" fiddle vs. violin.

    • @nickiemcnichols5397
      @nickiemcnichols5397 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. I think that any good instructor should know and play both styles, so they can teach both. The best way to learn fiddle in your area might be a meetup group of folk and bluegrass players. Musicians love helping beginners.

    Cool thanks! My question is how to pick the best shoulder rest and how to adjust it, specifically for a female who has narrow shoulders. 😊

    Thanks man. This helps out. Could you please recommend a good Violin to me in the $500 pruce range. I know how to play guitar. Thanks.

    • @KennedyViolins
      @KennedyViolins  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well, if you are able to stretch your budget a little bit, I'd highly recommend the Giuliani Primo. It's a bit more expensive than the Bunnel G1 but it's a better "class" of violin, that'll make quite a bit of difference, in terms of long-term happiness/sound, etc and as a guitar player, you'll probably be able to tell the difference in sound quality. kennedyviolins.com/products/antonio-giuliani-primo-violin We have sales fairly often on these violins, so if you're not in a big hurry, we'll probably have them on sale at some point.

      @@Lucius.88 All of our violins arrive to us in various states of completion. What we do is complete the final assembly and set up of the violins in WA state. We never send out a violin that hasn't been assembled and set up by us. This is the most important aspect of any violin, regardless of the price point. 👍

    I am a fiddler. When i hear a good fiddler of Irish or French Canadian music, i can almost always say who is playing. Tommy Peoples, Sean Kane, Frankie Gavin. The same reel played in their own style. Is it the same in classical violin? Great violonist are they recognizable by the way they play?

    • @KennedyViolins
      @KennedyViolins  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup. A person's personality always comes through in their playing and since personalities are unique, no two players are alike! 😉

    When you sit on the roof of your house and play your instrument,it is fiddle!.If you play that in dance programme ad libitum with Tennessee bows, you are a fiddler.If the venue is an auditorium/ music hall,you are playing a violin!.

    The diff. Is how the guys dressed on stage.
    If the band comes out in tails and ties or walks out barefoot, old T-shirt and overalls chewing some grass stem.
