In theory you said the charge goes from earth to sky actually that what it is then when you're installing you told different story .the lighting arrester as name suggests it's arrester, you can't do anything if lightning hits directly . Do you think your wire and rod will handle that much of current and voltage, it will burn immediately causing damage for house also
