- Apoorva Gokhale was the opening artiste at FEA's Khayal Rang Concert. She began her performance with a wonderful rendition of Raag Bhimpalas.
She was accompanied by Abhay Datar on tabla, Niranjan Lele on harmonium, Maithili Rao on tanpura and Soumya Ullal-Kantak on tanpura and supporting vocals.
A true torchbearer to the lineage of Anant bua and Gajanan bua Joshi ji👏👏👏
Wonderful rendition! Hope some organization/Govt of India pays these musicians a remuneration every month to keep them in the tradition. Most often such talented musicians stray into music entertainment because it is more lucrative or just that they don't have enough to make ends meet. Anyone who passes radio audition (B high) should be awarded a monthly remuneration.
Wow FEA, at this rate, your channel will be to contemporary Hindustani classical, what Subrata Chowdhury's channel is to vintage Hindustani classical. and then this music will forever be free from the blight of tinny recordings. Good days are upon us Hindustani music lovers of the interweb!

Bhimpalas rendered by this young musician is fantastic. The alap and the vilambit khayal are mesmarising and one of a kind - "apoorva" just like her name. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for the use of Real Tanpura-s. By adding svayambhoo svara-s and SRuti-s the Tanpura creates the halo of magic around the human voice. Pandit Kumar Gandharva: "I do not sing what I want to sing, I sing what the Tanpura asks me to sing." As a source of nature-created Harmonics, a Real Tanpura is peerless! Dhanyavaad!
When the artists are good the performances will obviously be great..but wen the organising team is great you get to see this kind of out of the world stage and video quality...love u guys..keep it up!

Impressive on all levels. As usual, an excellent visual and sound recording, as we now come to expect from First Edition (and that is praise coming from someone who worked on the technical side of theatre, tv and film in the UK many years ago).Then the group of excellent artists, above all a singer who is not trying to impress the public but who is sharing her immersion in the music, with the audience but, above all, in the delightful interaction between all the performers. And the rendition itself - magic! Thank you!!
