Just take Nix at 12. The Broncos are going nowhere without a QB, and they’re not going to get him if they trade down.
He’s nothing like Drew Brees. He’s 3 inches taller and more athletic. His arm is just as good. The only thing they might have in common is they would both be coached by Sean Payton if the Broncos draft him. I’m not saying he’s going to be better than Drew Brees or even as good, but the tools are there.
It does not matter if he is Brees or not. Nix will run Sean's Offense.
It shouldn’t take too much to be an upgrade over last year’s QB situation.

If there's value taking Nix in the 2nd, possibly. But nobody should be hung up on a singular option. I'd rather trade back and take an edge rusher
Haha. Here’s what Sean believed last year. Mims at 32, Sanders at 67, traded up for Riley Moss at 83, traded a future 3rd for Trautman I think, took JL Skinner at 183, and Forsyth at 257. And stated that the Stidham signing was “quietly important “. All position groups of need again this year. No so good. But hey you guys should be Bo Nix agents! What’s your over and under on how many of the top 6 QB’s in this draft will be starters in 2026?

If Nix is a perfect then just draft him. Don't over think this.
Even if he's not perfect but has fixable issues draft him. If SP thinks he can run the offense efficiently the way it needs to be run (within the next 2 years) then take him and if he doesn't work out we trade the farm for Arch Manning in 2026.

Thoughts on trading Surtain to Philly. Keep 12, receive 22, 50, and 2025 2nd.
Take best available @ 12 , try to trade 22 back to (28-31) and pick up an additional 3rd rounder
Or use 12+22 to move up to #3 If Jayden Falls?
Surtain is worth 2 firsts especially from a team that is always in the back half of the rounds.
If Philly gives us their 2024 first second(both) and third they got a deal

No way. Trade the 12 and a future 4th for 22 and 50. Better yet trade back once to Jax, for 17 and a their 2nd, then trade 17 and a future 3rd to Philly for 22 and 50. That gives you 22, 48, 50 for pick 12. You will add a good QB prospect to the room, take a DT at 22 or a Verse. Run stopper. Then let the board fall to you but covet top 50 picks early. If value drops you can trade back 50 for a mid 60s and maybe an additional 4th. We have to get run stoppers first. Then the premium position group players in the top 50 like a WR, OLB, or DL because this class is not deep past 50 on these. I think you’ll find a CB, OT and IOL depth as well as a RB like Laube late in the 5th through 7th rounds.

Those guys should be the 2nd QB drafted, not the 1st. We can hope they become Brock Purdy or Kirk Cousins but we shouldn't count on it.
Makes no sense to draft a QB after the Wilson trade, why strap yourself with two QB projects - I believe the Broncos made/received all the phone calls possible & found that they did not have the capital to move up and in their evaluation thought Wilson was better than whomever they would draft (including Nix), thus the trade a week before the draft. Why bring a guy in that needs fixing if he's not going to get the reps or the game time. I think we go LT or TE and pick up a project QB in the 4th or 5th. Any QB will need help elsewhere because we're not a very good team so, embrace the rebuild.
