Nani? I hope Honda Reliability takes the lead. Oh, swappable batteries, cool. Unreplaceable batteries are horrible, and will lead to expensive paperweights for at least the used market.
I bet more automaker collaborations will be happening. Its so expensive to build a car now and profits are thin. These companies are super in debt and markets like Europe and the USA are shrinking and Chinas brands are eating it up there.
They both have things that Honda desperately wants and needs to remain a viable manufacturer. Their shareholders are demanding that they make changes. They’ve got to act quickly.
Honda’s reliability has never been consistent. They can’t make a reliable automatic transmission to save their life, and they have been paying millions on warranty claims on their failed 1.5T engine for oil dilution issues. Honda’s reliability isn’t the flex you think it is.
Issues with collaborations if that you start taking notes and stuff from each other. If Honda ruins themselves by doing this. They dugged their own graves.
Bring back the Lancer Evolution and 240SX. Get Nissan as far away from CVTs has possible. Normal transmissions will help Nissan. Co-develop new 4 cylinder engine with more low end torque and will ALWAYS come manual/automatic transmissions. Help Mitsubishi with build quality and add more power to engines.
This will be a problem for Toyota with all the issues of late as far as market share. Maybe not know but later if Toyota does not get their act together with issues, offering and prices.
Honestly I think Honda will do fine with Nissan over GM, because Honda’s reliability is just better like Toyota, now none of these companies have perfect reliability anymore due to recalls and other issues, but overall Honda can help Nissan build quality again, and Mitsubishi will definitely improve as well, they will be like how Hyundai is in this situation, since Acura and Infiniti will be like Genesis as well, so yeah Honda knew not go with Toyota for many reasons too similar and more expensive as well, and Kia and Hyundai are doing fine without the Japanese for help! 😁

This is one yet to say Dodge will sell rebadged version of Crown sold as Diplomat or Royal Diplomat and even the Fifth Avenue; probably Lexus cars who are derived from the Crown might end up being built in Michigan. As a whole Toyota will take over the US Military market by having Jeep replacing the Humvees as the official military vehicles including a Jeep Commando pickup truck being built in Thailand being similar to the pickup trucks used by terrorist but use for the American military. I hope they do like VW group where they share the same engines & platform but still allowing each brand to keep their identity.
Hope this goes better than the Chevy Prelude 🤞
In my opinion, Nissan is a better partner for Honda than GM. GM has always been a notoriously bad company to partner with, just look at what happened to Isuzu and Suzuki in the US. And with Mitsubishi on board, it would be even more beneficial since they could get access to Mitsubishi’s PHEV technology, something that Honda hasn’t been known for. And it’s not uncommon for partnerships like this to be widespread nowadays in the auto industry.
Speaking of CVT, do they come with a torque converter?
Not to forget Nissan survived the Carlos Ghosn fiasco
Japan's EV shift is way behind of US though altogether 🤷♂️
It’s realistic. US and China were way too early and they’re paying the price with high inventory and losses.
I honestly want japan to go full BEV… i also want south korea to go full BEV. why? Coz that means a rise in power usage. N that means more natgas import…
And my country malaysia export natgas to japan by the shipload on whats essentially a daily basis. So yeah. Letsgoo BEV!! 😂😂
You mean like the electric car Toyota built in the 90s and the last two decades of Toyota producing the only hybrid at volume? How about that the lithium battery technology being largely Japanese from Sony and Panasonic?
It isn’t a technology gap, considering all EVs rely on Japanese companies. It’s being wise and not jumping the gun.
@@PinkFZeppelin indeed… japan doesnt have a a tech issue… they have a marketing issue.
What happens when u combine japanese know-how n ingenuity with american marketing prowess? Well.. the playstation consoles 😂
Let's see if uniting they built a good transmission!
These don’t always workout. Too many hands on any project hinders beyond 12-15 people. That’s why large companies fail to innovate like young start ups. Think young Tesla or Rivian.
I got confused with the "SDV" acronym. I always thought of SDV as a SEAL DELIVERY VEHICLE. I wish the auto industry chose a different acronym and not re-use the SDV acronym. That's all, I'll get over it.
The next generation Honda hybrid technology will be in the Prelude in 2026.
I heard it will be the Quaalude in 2025.
@@haroldbeauchamp3770 😂
Probably helps Nissan/Mitsubishi more even though Nissan's ahead in EV technology 😅
Japan's problem is the lack of software development, which is essential for EVs. To compete with Tesla and BYD, Japan would be better off partnering with software developers.
First it was CVT transmissions, then EVs. Neither is what most consumers want. What do manufacturers do? They join forces and double down their efforts againt the consumer's wishes.
Idk I feel like Honda kinda lost its identity after 2017 😅

Now can GM and Dodge unite???
To make Superjunk
Nah. GM killed Pontiac. There’s no way they’d be responsible for Dodge.
Dude, the American car companies should go out of business.
Yes just read that! Finally. And this is way way way way way way... uhm where was I? Ah yes WAY better than this alliance between Nissan and Renault in which everything goes in favor of Renault!
Also for k-cars that´s a big plus. Honda already works with others in that area. So now it´d be good to have that Mitsu-Nissan-Honda now.
Honda + Mitsubishi + Nissan (SHAWD + TYPE R + EVO + GTR)
They will probably also share the next generation e awd system that replaces the mechanical real time awd system.
Software-defined vehicle makes for worse cars. The only reason it exists is so that car companies can make more money.
Oh, boy, think of all the subscription services this could introduce.
Constructive criticism: Kindly stop with the Scotty Kilmer over-the-top video titles. It was funny a few times, but it's actually getting frustrating to see now and is starting to appear desperate. Thanks! Love you!
I wanna see AFEELA do all the software for these companies

Can the car industry survive being "SHOCKED" day after day after day?
NiHonda collab was not on my JDM bingo card
Awsome atleast we have options now
Xiaomi SU7 ultra gonna be hard to beat even if they united together
Hopefully they bring back the Evo XI
I think Mitsubishi is working towards that.

Honda partnering with GM and Nissan feels kinda bad to me. What's next, Stellantis?
They both have things that Honda desperately wants and needs to remain a viable manufacturer. Their shareholders are demanding that they make changes. They’ve got to act quickly.
Wow first honda partnering with GM and now with Nissan. Goodbye to whatever reliability Honda had left.
Honda’s reliability has never been consistent. They can’t make a reliable automatic transmission to save their life, and they have been paying millions on warranty claims on their failed 1.5T engine for oil dilution issues. Honda’s reliability isn’t the flex you think it is.
Great job
Agreed, I think Nissan lost a lot of high level execs or designers to Hyundai 🤷♂️ that ionic 6 looks like a Infiniti J30
Issues with collaborations if that you start taking notes and stuff from each other. If Honda ruins themselves by doing this. They dugged their own graves.
Makes sense when you see how Volkswagen operates.
Honda +Nissan aww so cute😂
Will it be called Honsan 本産or Nida 日田
There goes Honda reliability getting even worse.
Rebadge Frontier as a Ridgeline Trailsport.
Chinese cars manufacturers should expand into the USA market ❣️
honda pressed the self destruct button
They did that years ago.
I see a new Silvia or S2000 in the future. More likely the Silvia. They can’t make engines like the S2000 anymore
I like Honda/Nissan much better than the Honda/GM team up 🙄
This will be a problem for Toyota with all the issues of late as far as market share.
Maybe not know but later if Toyota does not get their act together with issues, offering and prices.
Nice work 👍👍🫵
Honestly I think Honda will do fine with Nissan over GM, because Honda’s reliability is just better like Toyota, now none of these companies have perfect reliability anymore due to recalls and other issues, but overall Honda can help Nissan build quality again, and Mitsubishi will definitely improve as well, they will be like how Hyundai is in this situation, since Acura and Infiniti will be like Genesis as well, so yeah Honda knew not go with Toyota for many reasons too similar and more expensive as well, and Kia and Hyundai are doing fine without the Japanese for help! 😁
Nissan’s plan end making Honda cars in France because of Renault.
@@Embargoman Yeah Nissan needs to just merge with Honda and get rid of Renault, then it would be an amazing company after that! 👍🏻
@@codybrandoncargle3129 Well it is not as easy as it seems, but just have improvements in their cars I remember when Chrysler merged with Daimler and then hearing about Mercedes Benz quality going down the toilet and vice versa.
@@Embargoman Chrysler should have never bought Dodge or Jeep that was a mistake, Mercedes Benz should have steered clear from Chrysler to start with, if Honda would have bought Dodge or Jeep instead for an example both Honda and Dodge would have made bad ass cars, sports cars, SUV’s, and trucks they would have crushed Ford and GM in sales! 🤔
@@codybrandoncargle3129 Yeah I get it Honda will soon put Boeing out of business and Honda will put Boeing’s fate as the same fate as Fokker and Boeing will have the fate of the Dodo bird thanks to HondaJet.
Just saying Honda is like BMW they don’t just make cars they make motorcycles too; just to say one thing Honda would have acquire Studebaker and yet Studebaker selling small cars it will keep crushing the big three like it did in the past.
But yet the big three are afraid of facing Studbebaker making quality and now they struggle as Chrysler buy out every single brand even AMC.
One thing is going for is Stellantis that I think the smart move after acquiring GM’s European division is to sell the Chrysler brands to Toyota and that way they might even import some Ram pickup trucks from Thailand and sell it in the US and probably a Jeep military pickup truck will be come and import from Thailand and is based in the Hilux.
Yet the saying goes when Toyota buys Chrysler to say tough as a Jeep Commando.
As long as the wiper arm stay on the right, cruise controls on the right and radio controls on the left of the steering wheel!! I hope they don't go stupid like they did with the Blazer EV/Prologue venture! GM controls in a Honda! 🤦♂
Bring back the Evo!!!
Interesting…very interesting. So can we expect a Mazda & Subaru tie-up? What about Toyota? Can they go it alone?
Toyota is so big, but they still do team up occasionally when they are inspired to. eg. Toyota+Subaru BRZ. also, there was for a little while Toyota+GM working on robotic manufacturing. Toyota-BMW Supra is also pretty cool.
Nobody wants EVs and most places can't even support them
Let's go🎉
I mean, Honda was stupid enough to partner with GM and that was obviously a failure, so partnering with Nissan at a broader capacity was kind of expected. They both need each other at this point to face up against Toyota and especially against the Koreans! Problem is, there are rumors that Toyota and Hyundai will expand beyond their hydrogen development partnership, so things are bound to get very interesting!
GM’s problem is: They keep making junk, Honda should have teamed up with Nissan to start with, since Toyota is always there enemy! 😅
@@codybrandoncargle3129Nissan and Honda used to be enemies traditionally. Back in the days, the market was divided into Toyota/Daihatsu/Subaru VS Honda/Isuzu VS Nissan/Suzuki VS Ford/Mazda VS DaimlerChrysler/Mitsubishi.

What would possess honda to do that? Mitsubishi is not even an automotive company anymore, they make decent ACs as far as ive seen unless they have wireless thermostats, but their vehicle lineup is irrelevant to car enthusiasts, and nissans have a bad reputation for bad transmissions and cheap plastic parts that break all the time like door handles and window actuators and dashboards maybe if they put their best attributes together they can make something amazing, so Ill try to stay positive, even thought honda is not making tuner friendly engines anymore
Honda isn’t the reliability powerhouse you think it is. Have you seen their balance sheet lately? They are losing money on their cars, because no one buys them anymore. They all want SUV’s and crossovers. They paid millions on warranty claims from their automatic transmission failures and their failed 1.5T engine. Honda desperately wants what Mitsubishi and Nissan offers them. Your comment about Mitsubishi is unbelievably ignorant because they have a full lineup of models outside of the USA and they are extremely popular. Nissan is a leader in EV technology and owns state of the art manufacturing plants in Japan. Your comment is so full of ignorance.
Nissan owns 15% of Renault and Renault owns 15% of Nissan.
I think Nissan needs Honda more than Honda needs Nissan. Just ask Nissan dealers.
In the US sure but Nissan sells more vehicles outside the US than Honda and Nissan has the only ICE car thats a top seller in China .. Which speaks volume over its competitors
Spoken like a true ignorant American. While Nissan of North America may be to blame, Nissan in Japan is a powerhouse. Its models are consistently the most sold, second only to Toyota. Nissan elsewhere in the world does not have the same reputation that Nissan of North America has allowed to happen.
Honda doesn’t need Nissan.
You’re clearly ignorant. Nissan offers several state of the art manufacturing facilities with enough capacity to produce the amount of cars Honda needs. Honda desperately wants Nissan’s EV technology so it doesn’t have to keep paying GM for their garbage. Honda desperately needs help and are willing to pay massively for it.
Will Honda force the Nissan ceo to take a pay cut for doing nothing but cut a car from their line
Nissan’s CEO threw Ghosn under the bus, so unlikely
I mean. I guess they figured it can't be any worse than the partnership they "are no longer pursuing " with GM. Lol.
So either Nissans will start to work properly or Hondas will start to break down constantly
Honda has its fair share of issues lately as well. They literally had to scrap the 1.5t due to their inability to fix the oil dilution problems.
