Was about to comment asking for a demonstration of the technique. Glad I waited till the end. It’s quite similar to a tai chi application I was taught called step back to strike the tiger. Great stuff

Thank you. It’s a single or double hand technique and it can be used in many ways including with footwork or turning etc. Rather it should be used in different ways 🙏🏾

I would add to your comment in my tai chi system it would be classed as pluck or uprooting.

As powerful as your sifu clearly is and as cool as the 'shock power' is, this will never work in a real fight. Either someone punches you at speed and its impossible to catch the hand and shock it like that. Or if in a clinch position there simply is no space to pull this off. The phoenix eye and hammer fist would work well however.

Oh it’s you again. What happened to you to make you this way? Who said anything about catching a punch or at speed? How do you know it won’t work in a real fight or grappling / close in situation? Have you tried it yourself?
Your experience is not universal to everyone. Stop making broad statements based on your own experience.
This is explaining a technique and use but you are so blind in your trolling you just show your lack of knowledge. A technique has many different uses this is why this is part of a discussion. I’ve personally used this concept and technique in a situation that worked for me.

Good & rational counter-comment on bad & irrational comment.

It's a legit technique, great for grappling when at wrestling range. Every grappling system has a similar technique like this to pull someone to throw off their balance, create opening and enter. This also works great on clothing, sleeves and collar if you can grab that.
Trying to "catch a punch" is not it's intended use, although you probably could if the other guy is knackered and terrible at striking.

@@Hakka_Charlie . Yes thank you for being respectful unlike the other gentleman. It's always nice to have points addressed rather then ad hominem about how little I know and inexperienced I apparently am. Yes the technique is basically an arm drag, but instead of trying to move the opponent, the movement is done more sharply to elicit a jerk, hence the shock power. Nothing mystical about it and u dont need years of grinding arm to develop it. Again very hard to pull off . U can use it in freestyle wrestling or a grappling match, very hard to pull off when someone is trying to take your head off as there other hand is free to attack and punch you. Similar to why aikido doesn't work in a real fight .
