I really love how free flow ranno’s combo game is, there are just so many ways you can combo, although I still need to get used to his grab game. Thanks for the tips!
Hey - just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. I'm an old Melee shiek main who has dabbled with Rivals 1 in the past and this is exactly the primer I needed, and your delivery is really good.
Great stuff! A couple of annotations: - You can jump-cancel grabs to make them safer after a dash. - You don’t need to let go and jump in to ledgedash in RoA2, you can just jump from ledge directly and immediately airdodge into the stage. - You can also shield-drop by tilting your stick straight down instead of smashing it OR even by just letting go of shield and then immediately pressing down, which is way easier! Hope this helps.
An annotation of your annotation: - ledgedashing the melee way means that you can get onto stage intangibly but not have enough galint to attack while still intangible - ledgedashing through cancelling jump getup actually does not give you that galint iirc
As someone who started in brawl and have played smash competitively this guide is great. Only had RoA2 for about 3 days but learning as much as possible and this gives a lot of good practice. would be awesome to jam some games man!
Great guide! The only things I would've liked to see you mention were DACUS and needle grab. But otherwise, I think this is the best Ranno guide out there right now!
For combos you can do upthrow upsmash, dthrow upsmash, or bthrow upsmash at 0% on a lot of characters (works best on fastfallers). And then after the upsmash you can usually combo into an aerial
@@DatZwiebel thanks! I plan on doing a lot more educational rivals content of various kinds! My next video will be ten things for everyone to start implementing into their gameplay
Oh, Ranno is a Shiek-like character? I just started Rivals2 yesterday… trying to determine my main. I main Sheik in Ult and Fox in Melee. So far only really practiced Zetterburn, who is fun, but I think I may need a character with more forgiving neutral game, while I learn the game. It’s weird switching from a GCC to a Pro Controller, and Neutral B being shine is so hard for me to get used to. Anyway, I’m gonna try Ranno. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Hey! Thank you so much for the video, its helping a lot, but can i ask, for his bubble, sometimes when i side special to it to recover it bursts instead of launching me forward, what am i doing wrong?
You will want to touch the bubble with the tongue from as far away as possible. If you are too close, it will just instantly pop without launching you at all
If you hit shield. be sure to land behind them with a fair or bair. Sometimes, they might try to parry so you can mix it up by just landing and grabbing. If you land the dair, follow up with first hit uair into up tilt at low percent, and at high percent just follow with fair or bait to send off stage/kill
@@arielescobargamboa276 honestly yeah I didn’t mention it much. I think people rely on it too much but it’s really unsafe on shield. Can be a great combo extender though!
Thanks for answering. I did really use dash attack very much in the first game so being nerfed the combo starter properties really messed up with my playstyle
I would've thought this channel had at least 100k subs with this level of content... Great work man!
Thank you so much! Hopefully we will get there one day!

Thanks for the feedback! Ledge dashing with the drop option allows you to maintain invincibility through the wavedash however
try letting go of ledge with back instead of down when you ledge dash

@@Shleppy_ Thanks! Those are definitely two great things with ranno! Maybe those will be in a future video!
Lmao, I came here for dacus. Couldn't remember how to do it when I was trying the game out on Sunday.
Some great information in this video. Answered quite a few questions I had as a beginner in rivals!
Great guide! Learned about Ranno as well as a lot of the Rivals of Aether 2 unique mechanics.
really great guide. needed to refresh on some of the specifics of his kit coming from rivals 1

At low % I’ve been chaining nair/fair/bair together with hit falling. Around 45%-50% is when fair really starts to launch the opponent.
Great Video 👍🏽
Thanks for the video!! Should definitely add a pic of Ranno to the thumbnail tho!
Here before this channel blows up lol
great video

Yeah if you play sheik in ult then I think ranno will suit you well! He really is a great all around fundies character
You can use GCC for rivals 2
Is there plan to do more of these??
I plan on doing more educational Rivals content in general! I have a tips video in the works right now
@@ofischial aw hell yeah subbed
great guide.
Thanks! I’m glad you found this helpful
As a lifelong sheik main Ranno immediately felt natural to pick up
Feels great after playing sheik and greninja and joker
about dair on shields - is it possible for the shielding character to parry after the first or second hit?
Hey! Thank you so much for the video, its helping a lot, but can i ask, for his bubble, sometimes when i side special to it to recover it bursts instead of launching me forward, what am i doing wrong?

what are your inputs to consistently back air like that?
what do i do when i hit their shield with dair? also what do i combo it into?
