Welcome to the Illusive RSX channel, my name is Nick. I own 2 Rsx's a Silver '06 Base 5 speed manual and a Red '05 Type S. My newest addition is a 2004 Honda CBR 600RR and will be making a few videos on it. The silver rsx is my daily while the red rsx is my project. I was gifted my silver rsx for my birthday 3 years ago from my brother. My red rsx I just bought from Florida in July of 2022. We drove 20 hours from Wisconsin to Tampa, Florida and the 20 hours back with the car. With that being said I store my red rsx for the Wisconsin winter to preserve its mint Florida condition. This channel will mainly be about the red rsx but during winter I wont be driving it.

Bought my silver 2011 CRZ in October 2010, the moment they first came out, way out in the desert of SoCal (got it for a sweet price of just a little over 19,000--a few thousand less than dealers were insisting on in Hollywood/the city). Loved it from the second that front dashboard lit up with the blue, green, aqua and red lights, and the mesmerizing three dimensional effect (never have seen anything like that on any other cars). Never quite got a feel for the paddles but it was cool that such a thing was even an option. The interior is soooo quiet and playing music in this car is a total joy! Loved not worrying about back seats (or passengers!), and having this huge area in the back for nearly unlimited groceries or IKEA furniture boxes, or even a bicycle. The auto stop feature scared me the first time the engine went off (thought the engine had died), but I've gotten used to it--it's a great thing to have in the horrible Los Angeles traffic (rush hour is like sitting in a parking lot). So ECO mode makes a lot of sense in traffic. But auto stop is still a bit scary when I'm sitting at an intersection on a steep hill... I always put the car into Sports mode to give it that extra power so car won't roll backwards as engine kicks in. Mileage is wonderful (I used to fill up the tank maybe twice a month). The SPORT mode was the best feature of this car. The dash board would go bright red, the engine would start to get this subtle growl to it, and you could literally feel the steering wheel and tires tightening up like a race car. Maybe a hybrid isn't nearly as powerful as a mopar, but my CRZ was amazing at intersections; whenever the traffic lights went green my car LEAPED ahead of everyone else, and put so much space between me and the pack. I always was first in line and it always surprised (and frustrated) some of the other drivers--always made me laugh! When the CR-Z first came out, I think I was the only one and my car constantly got a TON of compliments, with people coming up to me in parking lots or at gas stations and asking all about it. Back then, folks likened it to something out of "Tron Legacy." Guys in sports cars would pull up and wanted to race me. I declined (loved my car too much to risk it). I'm still driving it with pride fourteen years later and it's been so reliable and so comfortable. Such fun! The only problem I have had with it (from the first time I drove it home from the Honda dealer) was that dang TMPS (tire pressure sensor) coming on. Always think the tire is going flat, but the pressure always is normal when I check it manually. Sometimes folks would tell me it was a bad sensor. But over the years, I've found that what causes it is when the weather gets colder (40 F or lower). I think the cold air means the air inside the tire is contracting, fooling the sensor into thinking the tire is losing air. As soon as things warm up, the warning light disappears for months on end. Everything else has worked like a dream. I'm going to be really sad to finally part with this zippy little friend (I named it "Sharky" because of the gray color and the fin on top). It was wonderful for finding tight parking spaces and maneuvering in traffic. But my mom's getting older and hates climbing into a car that is so low to the ground, and it's getting more expensive to maintain it (since CR-Z's aren't made anymore). I've been wanting to driving the car cross-country (it's so comfortable), but it doesn't keep me as cool as I'd like to be on really hot days--and I intend to cross a lot of desert territory. I don't know if this is a problem common to CR-Z's (I suspect it's because of the large front window and the angle which allows in more sunlight). Really enjoying your videos, Nick. Have fun with your CR-Z. I haven't had any hybrid battery problems--still using the original one, BTW. --Kris

I've got a sprintex supercharged '11 CVT, and I love it. Definitely a future classic. The aftermarket support isn't as bad as I thought it was when I first got it, but you gotta look in the right places. Unfortuantely, many aftermarket parts and websites are discontinuing products.

I agree man these cars are super cool but once I've owned one for awhile now I can see why SOME people are never going to like them. Personally I would love to find a manual crz and get the factory hpd supercharger kit but it is $5k. That's way too much. Idk still thinking of my options down the road.

I bought one back in July. I absolutely love the car. Keep it in sports mode with the paddle shifters 😂 I just wish it had more power. Also wish auto stop wouldn’t engage in sports mode

I agree man definitely a fun forgotten about little car. Worst thing about the car is auto stop. I've learned if you keep the defrost on that auto stop doesn't turn on so for the time being I just keep my defrost on until I find a more permanent solution

Mine never engages the auto stop in sport mode even if the A/C/Heather/defrost is on/off. I have mine since 2016 and bought it almost brand new with 3k Miles from an old rich guy. I remember that you could turn off the auto stop from the settings but after the 10k Miles manteinance at the dealership this setting option completely disapeared. I don't know if it got updated or what but it's no longer an option in my crz. Mine is the mexican import version and has 24k original miles in it so it's like brand new. Reliable AF
