If he was just playing defense he will be the best pg, i think steph was better defender than russ because steph playing hard in the defense unlike russ, russ had the physical artibute to be a great defender but hi was to lazy on playing defense, russ don't need three point shooting he put 31 pts a game while not good on three point shooting, i think russ is the best scoring point guard he just need to play hard in defense, i wish coach ham handle him

Russ and Paul George worked as a team here. Russ was very generous and passed a lot, as a true team mate should and that was the main reason it took til the 3rd quarter for him to kick in that energy and boost the points back up. This was a joy to watch. Russ to this day is underrated in my book. I talk to peers about him and even strangers online and they all say he'll never be MVP and he'll never have his jersey retired blah blah blah etc. But he's earned it hasn't he? And his shoes were voted the best designed and colored too. He's literally the best. Haters love coming up with reasons to dislike any public figure. People even think he's mean to his own fans just because there are clips of him cursing out racist members of the audience. Russel is also nice to his fans and gives random ones, after each game, an autographed pair of the very shoes he played in. He's always been a hard working humble guy and Im glad he was MVP for KIA 😅but its still not enough. I wont be satisfied til he gets his retired hersey in the raftors. Haha
He a great player people will never truly appreciate him until he gats a ring or something. Averaged a tripple double last year and nobody give him his stripes.

we were so unlucky in the PG and Russ era. in 2018 we lost Dre and the team was never the same. we were always better without Melo. not that bad about that, Melo was old and way past his prime. then in 2019 we were looking like championship contenders the whole season then right before the playoffs Russ and PG both got hurt. we faced the Blazers literally crippled. PG had no shoulders and Russ' knee was messed up. it's a matter of what could've been when it comes to the Russ and PG era sadly. Billy Donovan was also not a great coach

amazing game but the zoomed in camera angle is extremely annoying
Billy Donavon spent three and half games (lose three games and down 25 after those) to finally make a simple adjustment about to not playing switching anymore to make sure Russ won't be the guy on weakside corner to lose many easy drive points by the cutter and enhance the pressure on the Jazz frontcourt in the rim protection to crack the Jazz offensive scheme. I just don't understand why tf he needed so many time to adjust something like this, and he played Melo like a useless idiot on the court. That is ridiculous, I can't believe they really kept him until his contract expired.
Yeah from memory Favors was abusing Melo all series and really when I think about it now they should have just put it all on Westbrooks back. PG13 was so bad this series.
I have mixed feelings about Donovan. I think that team in 2017-18 was so hyped to be 2nd in the west that they overlooked how the big 3 are all iso players and should always make the decisions.
