just finished and oh my god. all the abstract theories they were throwing around that literally had no meaning was driving me insane. like one minute magic is this and then it is that and how time is this and how time is that. i feel so stupid 😢
I finished it yesterday. I did not liked it after reading 14 pages. And it got worse after that. There is almost no plot. The characters are very one dimentional. The only interesting things for me, were the talking plants.
"removed from living" got me 😂😂 I started looking up reviews of this book after I DNF'd it, because I really liked the concept, but I just wanted to figure out how it ends. I think you absolutely nailed it when you said there is no plot. Because like the first like 80 pages gives you so much, and then it all comes to a halt, and you get nothing but them reading, the same scene being replayed from another persons perspective with truly nothing added, or all of them sleeping together. This book was disappointing because I liked the concept so much, but then it just turned so fast into something so disappointing. So, thanks for letting me know what happens in the end so I don't have to read the book, because I knew I just was going to hate the rest of it, but was curious how it ended 😂
I just finished reading this and completely agree with so much of what you said here!! I enjoyed reading it but now that it’s done I’m also asking myself what did I just read?
the way it ended is gonna give me fomo so I def want to just see how she might potentially save it but I honestly felt crazy bc I was so lost while reading and after had no clue what actually happened!
‘I’m losing the plot’ 😂😂😂 this is 100% how I felt. I’m watching this cause I just picked up the second book and realized I don’t remember what actually happened in the first book 😩
It's so upsetting, they mentioned Libby needs more power to grab time and it's revealed with the help of Tristan she can sense the rhythm of time and interact it Reina could possibly give her the energy to increase her stamina Nico could help lift the weight as well and together, they could suspend time for an extended amount of time or maybe even move it around.
I just DNF’d at page 79 😭 I just can’t see why I’d put myself through like 300+ more pages of something so BLAND! And I never DNF books so I’m just kind of reeling and watching every review I can on it!!! I wanted to like it so bad!
I’ve just finished reading it and my version of the book was 502 pages but then at the end it had a small chapter from the sequel but also this little bit at the end that i think is set somewhere during this book, i havent read it yet but I’m really confused as to what its there for considering its after the acknowledgments and stuff (this brought the book to about 560 pages)?????????
Everything you said - You got it right! I agree. I liked Libby, felt bad for Ezra and kinda felt curious about Dalton (hated his relationship with Parisa). This book is a massive disappointment because it has potential...
Really interesting review! I just found your channel and subscribed. I personally didn't really like the book either, but the premise sounded really interesting. Keep up the great work!
I don’t claim to be knowledgeable on the topic of dark academia but I feel like almost no one knows what it’s supposed to because this was the first “dark academia” book I ever came across and after googling it has almost NOTHING in common with other DA books people recommend besides being in a library like you said. I just wanna know what is the truth!!!
just finished this book and have been bingeing reviews because I don't understand the hype!! re: your comments about dark academia, I don't even think this book does a good job of it. the setting is barely explained (and aesthetics are a big part of dark academia) & the philosophical statements sound pretty but have no meaning if you actually think about them like "beauty is nothing" ??? okay???
I just finished the book and had to jump into yt to hear something cause I am in con…fu…sion, I agree to everything you say, I wished Gideon and Nico were lovers cause honestly I thought they were, why they queer baiting 😭 I don’t think I ll read the next lol
@@ipsitaacharya4401 i know they kiss because i saw spoilers but not sure if it leads anywhere. i'll probably read it out of spite but it will take me 12 months because boring 🤪
@@savaburry I actually disagree. There are amaaaaazing YA books (for the record, I am over 30). Maybe try "The folk of the air" series by Holly Black. Those are amazingly written, great world building and complex characters. Olivie Blake is an amateur
@@emiliamarquez9640 oh yeah I love YA. I just didn’t like this book which I don’t really think was YA to begin with since they’re all 23 ish. BUT I actually do really like the folk of the air series! I just convinced my friend to read it 🤧

I cannot for the life of me understand why this book is as hyped as it is, it was so supremely disappointing
extremely overhyped! The last 10% was promising so I’ve put a hold in for the library but I’m not expecting much ….

I had to rant to my boyfriend for like a full hour about how it just completely wasted it’s potential and is supremely infuriating

I was almost asking myself if I was the problem but I’m happy to see we were all equally confused 😭😭😭

Omg I love your commentary “you’re reading about them reading” had me loling just found your channel love it! Thanks for these reviews ❤
It's so upsetting, they mentioned Libby needs more power to grab time and it's revealed with the help of Tristan she can sense the rhythm of time and interact it
Reina could possibly give her the energy to increase her stamina
Nico could help lift the weight as well and together, they could suspend time for an extended amount of time or maybe even move it around.
Removed from living. That is the most gentle way to say murder.

I HATE HATE the writing in this book.
Your synopsis is hilarious. Still gonna read it. But I’m curious to see if I feel the same

Thank you! The premise really is what kept me reading and I want to have hope for the next one but we’ll see !
Me too! I really liked her review, so I subscribed, she is funny! 😃… I did not like this book at all, not sure what the hype is about
Love this commentary. I think the book you thought you were reading is six of crows. It’s multiple POV, heist, queer.
The book is just a lot of pages of potential 😣 and crazy plots
Bro no this is not dark academia except that it’s in a library

The Atlas Six the only book that I have rated a one star....
I truly have zero clue how it got as popular as it did….I’m gonna still read the second bc I love torturing myself but I don’t see it getting better
Agreed with literally everything you said. Not a good book. I'm reading the second one and I think it may be just more of the same.....
I enjoyed listening to you waaaay too much xD
This book was definitely disappointing.
the worst part is that I hated it and will still read the second one just in case 😭
GIrl! I was thinking the same damn thing!
The only reason I like the book is cud of Callum (I like bitchy characters) and the plot was sort of interesting
This book required BIG BRAIN energy which i dont have
I also felt dumb reading it until I realized, they were all dumb too 😂

if it means anything i think they have something going on in book 2 but not worth it
@@MrKittyKwon idk if I ll read it lol, but if you do and find something exciting come and tell me

If you're not interested in Young Adult, (or younger lit.)
dont bother.
Thanks for the feedback! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
