Great vest! I’ve worn my new vest for about 2 weeks now. It’s very comfortable, the mesh lets it breathe. What it needs is a built in admin pouch. I thought that the Velcro closure, where the hard plates slide in, was an admin pocket.
I am looking to buy armor between safelife and plate carrier. Leaning more toward safelife since better coverage and can always add rifle plate. But Kevlar has 5 year lifespan? So what happens after 5 years?
I take it the outer carrier vest is different than under your clothes vest meaning the one that you would wear under shirt or uniform usually those are worn closer to the body are outer carriers more designed to not necessarily lay as close to the body but more just lightly lay across the body if that makes sense or do you wear the outer carry just a snug as you would your vest that you would wear under your uniform
Anyone else notice that the side panels barely overlap the coverage on the front of the vest? Seems like the design wasn't thought out the very best to allow adequate coverage on the sides..
@@Nocturnal.Paradox- I have their armor. I also have side panels for the cumberbund and even with the side panels in it barely overlaps where the Velcro and panel meet. The side panel doesn't extend far enough forward to give overlapping coverage.
All Safe Life vests provide full side coverage when sized correctly. The side armor option is for those who want extra or need to close up a gap after gaining some weight.
i can barely get my hand inside to pull out the original straps your video makes it seem like there is plent of room to get your hand in there, when i can barely get my finger on the velcro to remove it very frustrating
Has anyone tried ordering a size up to make the front and rear panels overlap on the sides? The main thing holding me back from buying is not having side coverage included, it seems like a great vest but I don't want to worry about switching side armor between carriers or not having it at all. It seems like it's more of a money grab selling it separately than anything to be honest.
If you size it correctly, there is side coverage. The vest is designed for the front and back to touch at the sides. This is for if your vest has gotten a little small, if you know what I mean.
I just bought some 3A+ side panels. Thanks Safelife defense. I do security work. It comes in handy.

After five years, you have to replace the panels. The carrier, of course, is still fine if you’ve taken care of it but that’s the cheap part.
