What really got to me was Lady Tremaine standing in the attic alone after the captain takes Cinderella downstairs. Perhaps I'm reading into things too deeply but it might be that she finally realized for all her scheming and bitterness, it was all futile as in the end, she truly had nothing. Just a remnant of a forgotten era that has yet to move on
And not likely to receive some benefits from Ella as Queen.
Was in tears when I first heard Lily James sing Lavender's Blue. She sings so beautifully.

Makes me wonder at Grand Duke’s “allegiance.” Sounds like he negotiated the marriage/alliance with Zaragoza and the princess. The question is if the former king knew/agreed.
@@flea10x6 there is a deleted scene where the grand duke, the captain and the guards find Ella at the roadside after the carriage turns back into a pumpkin. He must have recognised her from there and all the other times he met her

Was wearing my homemade Quan Chi costume the first time watching this and I was still heartfelt by Lily James' sweet singing.

Every bit or not but I looked up Cinderella's last name it is in fact Tremaine. So Cinderella's full name is Cinderella Tremaine so basically lady Tremaine is her mother. Well adoptive mother and that is what lady Tremaine is and always will be. Cinderella's adoptive stepmother the only one in her life now. Also given the fact that both Cinderella's previous parents are in fact dead.
Being a Step Parent does not make you a parent at all, it just means you married somebody's mother or father.
