As a south indian, disagree with the honor and egalitarianism point, it was on a decline, rajputs were full of distrust and opportunist due to highly rigid caste system and oppression of lower castes and utterly corrupt and opportunist elite led disarray and disunity and eventual collapse of society in north india. South indian native kingdoms also suffered this but due to natural strong linguistic nationalism and patriotism of native soil, they were eventually realized this and put up a fierce resistance by uniting and modernized united imperial army with warehorse by Vijayanagara (Karnataka) empire.
