I love the idea of a beer themed party! My dad worked as a brewer when I was little and my FAVORITE birthdays were where he would brew us root beer. Good for you for enjoying yourself :)
Thank you! We picked dinosaurs as a theme and I got some simple stuff from dollar tree. The best thing I found were mylar t-rex balloons that I'll hang throughout and a few fold out table top dinosaurs. My sister is going to make the cake and we are having hotdogs. His birthday is new years eve, so Christmas, then hurry up and plan a baby's party....lots of stress. We are going to do hotdogs
Great! This is helpful! We'll be planning soon! Just a note, When using single use utensils/plates, you cannot recycle if they have food/scraps on them (yes, this includes pizza grease)
True unfortunately. Even paper-based. Food contaminates everything and you can’t clean or reuse them for diy cause they’re greasy 🤢 Brand new china plates here only cost $1, so I might go for that.
I’m very late 😂 happy birthday to your now 2/3 year old haha. My daughter’s turning 1 soon, and I’ve been planning and buying 4 months in advance haha. I know everyone will be happy with anything, whether it’s at a park or in a decorated venue - so no pressure, but I think I am doing a lot for her first birthday because I’ve never really planned a birthday before, and now im the parent and it’s all up to me. So strange being responsible of a little person lol. Also planning a fun day for my nieces and nephews and adults to enjoy. Love your video. Had a lot of helpful tips x
I feel like the first birthday should be celebrated more for the parents than the baby. The parents just survived the first year of keeping another human alive and it should be more a celebration of the anniversary of becoming parents. Of course its still your Child's birthday party but its so easy to waste money on a memory thats not even for them, its for us! Also I agree with no pressure for gifts. At the end of the day, in the early years the party is honestly for the adults, not the kid.
Thank you for this! My son was born on New Year’s Eve so I am not quite sure when to have his birthday or if it should be combined with Christmas celebrations because it’s his first year. Don’t know what to do on this front yet
Music I found was something I overlooked and one of my guests (I didn't know who) brought it upon themselves to blast their stereo during my event... granted it was music that mostly everyone enjoyed I would like to have turned it down during times I needed to make an announcement and say hello to everyone.
Yes on the big gift problem! It’s My sons first Christmas this year he will be 10 months old and his grandpa wants to get him 2 birds… love him and know he just wants to spoil him but we live in a small rental and my son won’t even understand what they are/it’s something for us to look after haha
Hey! I love your channel. I just had my first baby (5 days ago) and I found all your minimalist baby recommendations super helpful when I was preparing for his arrival. Just wondering, where did you buy the turtleneck you're wearing in this video? It looks like nice quality. :)
Yes as an introverts who has social anxiety I’m not even gonna let anyone know it’s her birthday I’ll just celebrate in silence with my boyfriend and share the pictures after it happened
I had a lot of family ask me what he needed and they came with diapers and wipes and other things he needed rather than a ton of gifts (he still definitely got lots) but it was nice to get some of the things we needed rather than a ton of toys that I didn’t love or were way too old for him!
We always tell folks on the invite that if they are considering a gift, any small contribution to her college savings account would be appreciated. We have plenty of stuff 😬
Omg I’m glad I found your video because I’m stressing over here lol we really want a small and simple 1st party.
PERFECT timing (as per usual) - my son's first birthday is in 2 weeks and this is all the stuff I needed to hear!
Same.

Glad someone else pointed this out! There are compostable plate (not sure about utensil options) that you can compost with food scraps on them though.
Totally! You can get paper based utensils though 😊

❤
Great tips!! I love that you had a beer theme & will take a page from your book & have a theme that I enjoy for my little one’s 1st.
My baby girl turned 1 today and her party is this weekend! what perfect timing to stumble across this!
Have I already had my sons first birthday party.... yes..... did I watch the whole video anyway.... also yes 🤣

My son was born New Year’s Eve too! Haha we are doing his party on Jan 2nd(Sunday)
@@karleendam79 birthdays twins! That’s a good option

Opening Gifts loved the idea🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Great advice!
I'm turning 30 this year and I want a beer themed party! What a fun idea for the guests because really the kid doesn't care!

You can put on the invitation gift cards to local childrens museum, trampoline indoor bouncy park, local pool etc.
I'm not on social media so I feel zero pressure lol

That's a great suggestions. How would you write that on an invitation?
Having a beer themed kids party birthday is so disturbing and gross.
You dont know how to give a 1 year old babe the best birthday 😢
Horrible advice. Your child will care when he’s older or an adult and looking back at videos and photos.
Girl, you lost me at single use products. If you really don't want to do dishes just serve finger foods.
