- A scene from Terry Prachett's Going Postal. A conversation between condemned criminal Mr. Lipwig (?), and despotic ruler Lord Vetinari.
A huge thanks to the amazing @NathanHacker for voicing Lord Vetinari
and to my good friend Brendan O'Neil for voicing Mr. Lipwig.
Vetinari's greatest line is still: "Boo."
Lipwig was intelligent enough to completely understand when Vetinari says “ You just have to step through that door and you will never have to hear from me again “ it means something *very* specific.
it makes it hit very hard when a certain Mr. takes the offer
Animation is the absolute best medium to translate Pratchett.
The 'think of me as an angel' frame is perfection
I love how geometrically distinct you make each characters face, Lipwig is round, Vetinari's sharp, and Drumknott is a square. Should have 10x the number of views, absolutely magical.
@@DOOMTREADER11 thank you! 😊
I'm so glad lipwig looks like the most average looking guy, just like in the book. Too much fanart potraying him as a handsome devil these days)) amazing work!
Thank you! His main feature is "Extremely Forgettable" and it was a challenge to come up with a design that fit that!
Too bad the acting is. USELESS
“The other interesting thing about angels, Mr. Lipwig, is that you only get one.”
I love this, you definitely captured the comedic timing of the book.
This just... this just made me happy. Thank you. You do good work.
I love how you've done Vetinari's face and body language, totally perfect. Also I love square drumknott
I really love this, though I will admit hearing anyone but Stephen Briggs voice Vetinari will always be weird to me!
Indeed, Vetinari has such a specific vibe that it's hard to pin down in person. However, I think that for two slices of Pizza, Nate did a pretty darn good job!
He did a good job, but I also have to admit I'll always see and hear Charles Dance. Even if he maybe was a bit more obviously menacing than intended.
Always loved this scene, you did an excellent job with it!
Thank you!
I just checked on your channel after the Men at Arms animatic popped up in my recommended again, and what a pleasant surprise it was to see this there! Great work with this scene. I love the character acting, especially Moist's hasty objection at "It was a joke!" And the shot of Vetinari being viewed as an "angel" is brilliant. You have a great sense of composition and timing!
Interesting animatic
Don't let me detain you :)
Absolutely incredible! I particularly love the moment when moist turns on The Smile lol. Amazing work!!!
I absolutely love this animatic, would watch an entire movie or show in this style
Whoever names someone "Moist" has evil in their heart
The other fun fact about angels:
Every man gets only one.
This is AWESOME, I love their designs and the voice actors are great!!
Vetinari s voice should be more like DEATH
I’m sorry but Vetinari the angel tchfxhfszrszutdx
so good!!!
i love this scene and you captured it so well!!!
This video was how I learned Moist's alias was different in the North American release of Going Postal.
Oh really? What was it in your version?
Albert Spangler. I looked it up after this video and apparently it was changed so folk didn't get confused with Albert(o) Malich, Death's butler.
@@arcengal Ah! The things you learn!
oh this is FANTASTIC
Just started reading the book and you did an amazing job here. I saw the scene in the film as well which did a horrendous job. You captured the tone of the characters and humor really well!
