ഈ ലക്കത്തിൽ എം ആർ ഹരി പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് ശ്രീമാൻ ശശിധരക്കുറുപ്പിനെയാണ്. 14 ഏക്കർ വിസ്തൃതിയുള്ള ഒരു ചെറു വനത്തിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം താമസിക്കുന്നത്. കൃഷിയിടത്തെ വനമാക്കി മാറ്റിയതാണ്. ജൈവവൈവിധ്യ കൊണ്ടും വിവിധ നാടൻ മരങ്ങളും വിദേശമരങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടും മുള ഇനങ്ങളാലും ഫല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളാലും സമ്പുഷ്ടമാണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം. ഇവിടെ ചിത്രശലഭങ്ങൾ, അണ്ണാൻ, പക്ഷികൾ, കീരി തുടങ്ങി ഒട്ടേറെ ജീവജാലങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. തനിക്കും കുടുംബത്തിനും ആവശ്യമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് കിട്ടുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നാണ് കുറുപ്പ് ചേട്ടൻ പറയുന്നത് . ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനം മനസ്സമാധാനവും, സന്തോഷവുമാണ്. അതിവിടെ ധാരാളമായി ഉണ്ട്.
In this episode, M. R. Hari introduces Mr Sasidhara Kurup who lives in a 14-acre forest. The place is a rich ecosystem with indigenous and foreign trees, fruit trees, multiple varieties of bamboo, vegetable plants, flower trees and shrubs all of which sustain several varieties of butterflies, birds including eagles, snakes, squirrels, mongooses and a host of other creatures and small insects. Besides, there is a pond, a canal, and a sacred grove. While Mr Kurup gets enough produce from the land to sustain his family, he says he gets happiness and peace of mind in the midst of this green haven that is cool even in the height of summer. More importantly, the help he renders to Nature in terms of carbon sequestration is incalculable.
