Rub the surface nail well until the surface gets a metallic sheen. The paint graphite dust then combines and the coating becomes more electrically conductive. You must achieve a conductivity of less than 150 Ohms for a length of 1 cm. Then cover the surface with a clear film to make the coating not only conductive but also resistant to water and mechanical scratches. This is a cheap stealth coating technology for drones that become invisible to radar.

This paint does not adhere to plastics, glass, metal, only porous surfaces such as wood, paper. It flakes off from plastics, glass, leaves, etc. when it dries. The best quality paint available today is the graphene paint by Robert Murray Smith, which can be applied in an extremely thin layer on various surfaces, yet it possesses extremely good conductivity. The conductive material is only about 1/4 - 1/6 of what is shown in this video! When graphene settles, it occupies only about 1/6 of its original volume! This is necessary to be able to paint in a very thin layer. For electroforming, it is crucial that the applied paint conducts as well as possible in the thinnest layer possible.

@@cayrex Welcome. I am very interested in what you offer. If I use an absorbing paper towel for example (fiber rich paper )and I coat it with Conductive ink .. Would it still be able to absorb water ? (without making the ink runny ? .. Would you mind if you give me your email.. I have few questions related to this field !
i dont know whats happening, the one i made looks exactly like yours but under the tap water it just absorbs all the water and peels off. Been drying for 24hs.. same result.
@@cayrex It gets even weirder because the chemistry that sold it to me, told me that: "it is expected to be soluble in water because of Sodium cations"... well maybe its time to try other binders.. cmc-sbr next !?
More resistive? You add less carbon or add more binder or mix something non conductive together. PVA and graphite and mix your resistor on different volume resistance
I saw one of your older video where you did the same ink with carbon and you got almost the same resistance results after polishing. So is that difference to make a good conductive ink, using carbon or graphite powder?
Yes, to make good conductive ink is depending on almost all used materials like binder, conductive material, size,... in basic graphite is also a carbon. Graphite have lower surface area as activated carbon or carbon black, which means that you can add more graphite into the binder and still you get good liquid ink. But if you add some activated carbon or carbon black to the binder,... the load of carbon will be way smaller for the same liquid state of the ink. But if you add the same amount of carbon black or AC that you use with graphite,.... the ink will end up like pasta.
@@cayrex Very good answer, very understandable for me. Thank You! So smaller size would be graphite oxide but it is more expensive to produce thats why graphite is the best (optimal) for the conductive ink.
is this the same mix you used in your update? The water glass you are using is quite dilute. The higher concentrations are more viscous. ie 40-42 deg Be. If you want to make consistent ink smears, consider making a Mayer Rod or Doctor Blade method. The Mayer Rod method is simple: wrap a wire tightly around a 5-10mm rod and draw it across the ink on the surface. Depending on the wire thickness, you'll get reproducible, even films. Cheers! Doug

My question is about the preparation of conductive and water-resistant carbon inks, as the ink industry relied on polyvinyl chloride as a binder with the use of a specific plasticizer, because I want to print it through a 165T silk screen to prepare a sensor printed on a PVC board, but the ink resistance is about 90 ohms, and I want to make it close to your ink that made in the video. Can you help me?
Odlicno

Sir How to make ink from powdererd PANI and polypyrrole? kindly guide
I need it urgent
Again, I never work with PANI and polypyrrole so is hard to say something which will work 100% Search on web
Hello sir. I tried your procedure but mine has higher resistivity almost 500k. When I saw your sodium silicate its different from mine, it is so sticky and yours is not. Can you help with my problem?
Did you find a solution to this problem ? Did you use more small graphite? Did you use less Silicate and more graphite ?
@@eloistreeraw same her and i did less silicate and do more graphite and the same 1000 ohm per CM
my silicate not clear as yours its make diffrent ?
I dont know if it is important for the sili. ps: do also have a problem with with time the paint become white like it was attack by mushroom ?
Is the activated carbon not conductive?
So glad you're talking and have some banging great tunes for your backing and intro and outro music.
Great to see your fantastic results.
If I use an absorbing paper towel for example (fiber rich paper )and I coat it with Conductive ink .. Would it still be able to absorb water ? (without making the ink runny ? .. Would you mind if you give me your email.. I have few questions related to this field !
Great video, understood everything you said, your English is good, ... Thank you for sharing this ;-)
i dont know whats happening, the one i made looks exactly like yours but under the tap water it just absorbs all the water and peels off. Been drying for 24hs.. same result.
To low NaOH in the silicate?
@@cayrex It gets even weirder because the chemistry that sold it to me, told me that: "it is expected to be soluble in water because of Sodium cations"... well maybe its time to try other binders.. cmc-sbr next !?
But graphene viscosity is very low
OK, that was a better video. Thumbs up.
How to make it more resistive. I would like to make my own carbon resistors.
@@jtoomla yes, that's right
is this the same mix you used in your update? The water glass you are using is quite dilute. The higher concentrations are more viscous. ie 40-42 deg Be. If you want to make consistent ink smears, consider making a Mayer Rod or Doctor Blade method. The Mayer Rod method is simple: wrap a wire tightly around a 5-10mm rod and draw it across the ink on the surface. Depending on the wire thickness, you'll get reproducible, even films. Cheers! Doug
Hello, very informative video. could you please give us the link for the natural graphite at ebay for 9 euros. i ve been searching and most of them they sell synthetic graphite and the cheapest is 19 euros for 1kgr. i would appreciate if you post the link. thank you
The graphite is 1000ml which is not 1kg,.... in kg is around 600 to 700g. Here is the link: www.ebay.de/itm/7-99-l-Graphitpulver-Grafitpulver-Graphit-Grafit-Schmiermittel-1000-ml/153288184560?hash=item23b0b012f0:g:UXkAAOSwDthZpRFu
@@cayrex Hello, you doing a good job. I allready passed all this tests with heating elements and heaters. Little advice, you can add a copper powder to a graphite. It helps you put up electrical conductivity without resistive changes.
@@Антон-п9я3и the copper powder will oxidize over time. The copper oxide is not conductive.
@@cayrex its oxidize only on air but not in water glass.
Thank a lot for the video. Will try it.
I send you a beer later if I succeed to do it ;)
I hold you to your word 😉 Be sure taht you use some good quality graphite
@@cayrex I am not afraid about the graphite. But I am not familiar with other product, I try to figured out to what it correspond to the EU amazon market to buy the correct one ;) .
Not easy to know what to buy when you know nothing about the topic.
Maybe that one:
www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07YNPR2K6/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
But the "neutral" word make me doubt
.
PS: @cayrex2 you should us the Amazon affiliate link in your description. By redirecting people to the good product to Amazon you make a percentage of the next product the users buy on Amazon. It would allow us to thank you indirectly.
@@eloistreeraw I buy sodium silicate in my local store for some 2€. If you buy sodium silicate you will get sodium silicate,... maybe the concentration can be a little diffrend. Sodium silicate is mixed with water, so is better to buy a bit higher concentration, because ,ou can add water if you need it. But I think thatare more or less all sodium silicates at same concentration.
Language isn't the problem. If you can make people to understand what you trying to say that's enough for understanding. And try to give more information on a topic. Awesome video.
Thank you my friend
nice
Hi good video
Thank you
Nice
Plse tell about the solvent/binder
Sodium
silicate acts as a binder in heavy-duty laundry detergent and auto dishwashing tablets.
I am not willing to watch this past the first test with the ohm meter. You had the probes less than 2mm apart. Test conductivity across the swatch. Useless info!
Useless commnet. Cheers
@@cayrex What's a commnet? I'm confused.
Wow
