What if instead of graphite powder i use iron filings for making it the same way ?! Wouldnt that be conductive ?
Is carbon black crucial? It is not so easy to find and often expensive.
I also wonder - is there anything special about pine resin, or is it just a binder that could be substituted?

Battery life cycle
These carbon graphite electrodes are similar with available commercial ELECTRODES. The battery life depends on which battery you are going to make. 👍

Can I possibly use Rosin for Violins or Soldering? Because that's what I have here already. I guess it could work.
And my Idea for the Carbon Powder: Toner Powder from old Laser printers? As far as I've heard, it is Lamp Black Powder. Could be a cheap Source for it.
Useful the rosin that is used for violin. Do not use soldering rosin, which may contain added other additives.
The carbon black powder shall be electrically conductive.
Interesting, but what is the ratio of your mixture? How much Graphite, Carbon, Sugar and Kolophonium?

I will try that, when I have time. Hopefully they are good for electrolysis too. The advantage here is, it also may be possible with the method, to repair somewhat corroded Carbonrods, or to make them thicker any time.
