Hi mate, sorry been away with work! Yes! I find getting as tight up to the island as possible is best. I usually clip a rod up with a bare lead first to get it as tight as possible!
Hi mate, My go to are CC Moore NS wafters in yellow, orange, white or red. Fishing those in solid bags. The lake sees a lot of CC Moore. For loose feed I’ve used Pacific Tuna in the past! Good luck on your session!
Hi mate! Sorry for the slow reply, just seen this. In my experience the fish tend to hold up in the reeds during the colder months. I’ve had a lot of success fishing this way using solid bags with small bright wafters/pop-ups. A great peg where the fish tend to hold up this time of year is peg on the third peg on the left hand side of the lake as you come from the car park, then the next one on. They love that bay and the reed beds there. Hope that helps!

Good pegs them at the bottom. Often overlooked being the furthest from the car park.
