- Full length version of this song by Philip Kachaturian made for the original Gone In 60 Seconds motion picture, the greatest car chase movie of all time. This self-edited music video is dedicated to H.B. "Toby" Halicki, RIP.
It's sad how many people are not aware of the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie, nor of the original soundtrack. Both need to be preserved, as it is a special movie!
Or even the original version submitted to the MPAA. That could be considered the "Director's Cut" of the film.
I personally can feel that spine seeing that landing!
To this day, the best car chase film ever. Seen it at least 200 times. LOVE THE SOUND TRACK.

I saw this movie for the first time in 1992 when I was only 5 years old, I was instantly hooked. Watched it hundreds of times sick then. It's definitely one of the best.

The original gone in 60 seconds is worlds better than the nicholas cage version and what makes it even more exciting is that all the car stunts were actually done by the actor unlike now a days where most stunts use computers
Somebody needs to put the non-remastered version of the movie on TH-cam, as I've never seen it, being 15. But these videos tell me the original soundtrack fits the movie much better.

84Bronco351 if that doesn't work then when you type in gone in 60 seconds you will see this beside it saying: OST for original sound track. Like I said there two out there one by: elenrenard on TH-cam and one in two parts by: Lithuanian Matt on TH-cam but that link should work. If it redirects you to the page instead of the video then look for OST or those two you tubers names. Enjoy gone in 60 seconds...

@ausgeflippter All of these lyrics do appear in the movie. The whole song is in there except for about the last three or four seconds which fade out very quickly as the Mustang hits the light pole. The lyrics are very hard to hear because of the dialogue and sound effects. It is much clearer in "Deadline Auto Theft", where they used this shorter version because the whole scene is shorter.
Halicki and Kachaturian did release these commercially on their own "Theft Records" label way back when.

The original score is the best, I worked on the film and have an original vhs copy and I was really disappointed when I picked up the dvd and found the music was gone and replaced with a score that sounded like it was taken from a porn movie! I know Toby wouldn't be happy with what has happen to his movie.
I wish those in charge of this kind of thing would release a proper soundtrack and maybe even the pre-release version of the film.

I have an ex rental copy, and it is an original version, with the original sound track that they couldn't fully save when they remastered it. I also recorded the airing of the remastered version some years ago. I enjoy both. Kinda prefer the added stronger engine exhaust notes in the remaster, but certainly love having the original version to.

This is not the full-length version, but it was the version commercially released. And in saying that, the full-length version only has extended/repeated chorus and instrumentals. It goes for an extra two minutes in the original releases of the film.
@bizcotch in Germany there is a new DVD edition out with the original score by Philip Kachaturian!!!
@HippyHillbillie yep i agree totally saw the movie in cinema and then had the real movie in my hands(copy) at boarding school I attended.Its the music that does it it wasn't until I moved to America in 1978 actually in 1989 i bought a video of which had the original music on it unfortunatly lost the video in a move.

@stratojunkie68 It's not available anywhere. I recorded it straight off the video with all of the sound effects/dialogue on top of it. Not real cool but it's the only way to do it. Phil Kachaturian only has the commercially released version. He lost the extended one years ago and has no idea what happened to it.
@DiscoKat Those in charge aren't interested in releasing this music, unfortunately, otherwise they would have kept it in the film for its DVD release.

Was this on a 45 single? If so, what was on the other side? I got the Theft 45 of "Lois Lane Blues"/"Gone in 60 Seconds" at the Halicki estate sale but I didn't see any other records with songs from from the movie there.
I have the original on VHS it is the best. Do not like the remastered sound track it just does not suit this movie. The more the car is bashed in the original the rougher its engine gets which is how it would be.

Well, I assumed that there was an extra instrumental version which also appeared in the movie. This vocal version here includes some lyrics that don't appear in the movie, that's what I menat with full-length. Is it true this stuff was commercially released back then?
There were some promotional 45's pressed up. I believe there were two: Gone in 60 Seconds backed with Big Town/Big City and Lois Lane Blues backed with I do hope the man doesn't catch me. I truly believe Toby wanted a full length album, but Phil and brother Ron didn't come up with enough music. Of course, Phil made enough instrumentals that they could be inserted in the movie.
where i can buy this original soundtrack? after digital remastered movie loss 80% without this music.
