Thx for your walk about. I lived and worked in the town for three years in the seventies, and was amazed to see how much it has changed to the point that I recognised very little of the town except the Mosque and Kampong Ayer, which did not have any access other than via water taxi.
I have been here once. This country is good for introverts, have less people, and tend to be more composed. If you prefer places with many people and variety, you can go to Singapore. Same vibe, just different situation.
Good one - can't believe how clean it looks - the scene diversity was great - those water villages, wow......probably a tightly controlled sultanate, but on face, sort of interesting.....tnx for sharing, man....:-)
Great Place for a relaxing, but interesting four - five day vacation. Plenty of places to eat, folks speak English, safe, good weather, very friendly people and I would make a return trip... But, there are sooo many interesting places to visit - I may not be able to make it. Appreciate the video posting on You Tube. The leader is rich*, just like in Equatorial Guinea, GDP per capita is high because of oil but the people arent that rich. Ofcourse Brunei isnt any 3rd world country afaik.
The people may not be that wealthy (even though they are) but at least none of them lives in poverty unlike Equatorial Guinea and the government provides them money, housing, and they don't pay taxes. They only need to pay electricity, water and petrol (and basic stuff) but it is not expensive. What a heaven !

Do those houses on stilts in the water have running water and sewage? Or is their a hole in the ground in their bathroom, which serves as a toilet and the water beneath them their sewage?
We have proper sewage system her bruh they even have electricity and clean tap water in the water village. There's even a Shell petrol station over there.
Streets, maybe. However, the old Tamu Kianggeh has been closed for more than 3 years already and moved to a new location. There's also Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas which replaces some parts of the Kg. Ayer showed in this video.
