Gerald Croft in TEN Quotations - 'An Inspector Calls' GCSE English Literature Revision

- This is the fifth video in my '"An Inspector Calls" GCSE English Literature Revision' series!
In this video, I focus on the character of Gerald Croft, and discuss the ten quotations that I best feel sum him up, and are most useful to analyse in relation to his character. I complete A LOT of verbal analysis in this video, so much sure that you're listening and that you have a pen and paper to hand!
I also discuss what J. B. Priestley's possible intentions may have been when he was writing this character - why did he make Gerald the way he is?

My teacher sucks and without these videos I'm sure I would be doing crap in English, because of it. Thanks for making them!
I'm sure your teacher isn't anywhere as near as bad as you make them out to be, but I'm very glad you're finding these videos to be helpful all the same! 😊
videos are perfect for me
got a paper 2 lit exam on monday and these videos are really helping thanks
Great Video! I was really worried if Gerald came up this year but this really helped give me confidence! Thanks!!
Glad to have helped and eased the nerves! Good luck!! 😊
These videos are really helpful. Maybe with the 'I'm rather more - upset' quote the dashes could also suggest hesitation as he may not be telling the truth/ is faking his distress in order to get away.
Thanks so much for this! I'm convinced that EDUQAS could be Gerald and I watched your video on Mr Birling yesterday as well. They've really helped because in school all they're focusing on is blame and obviously it may not be blame so THANKSSS
i’m struggling so much, thankyou for taking your time to help us
Amazing video! Doing this on Wednesday 25th May along with Macbeth, and I was quite worried incase Gerald came up because he's the character I feel there's the least to talk about. Thank you!
You're welcome - good luck for tomorrow 😁
i wanted to comment to say thank you. you put a lot of effort into your videos, and they have helped me along my revision journey. thank you! :)

@@DystopiaJunkie thanks! went pretty well but it turned out to be a question on birling
Glad it went well - and Mr Birling is probably a pretty kind question to be given, so that's a plus!!
English is so hard..
It can be tricky, but keep working hard and I'm sure you will be able to overcome it! What do you find tricky in particular?
@@DystopiaJunkie aired bro 😪
Does anyone know what the inspector calls question was on 2023 paper???
you make me like English again
thanks mate your great
ive got an english literature paper 2 gcse tomorrow please wish me luck
I disagree with 90% of the interpretations here, but this is just what my English teacher wants to hear so thanks
Great video - very helpful, but at 5:15 is it Gerald or Sheila that come from an "old country family" ?
Can't click on my video at the moment, but the quotation relates to Gerald's mum (and therefore Gerald by extension)!
im going into y11 in a week, do you reckon for the 2023 aic exam paper will be on gerald as he hasnt come up much?
It's hard to say, really! If major characters / themes haven't come up yet, I would be inclined to think they will come up soon. That being said, I know that some of exam boards have started to repeat / use similar questions (e.g. focusing on the same character or a closely related theme), so I wouldn't bank on it either!
first dislike, that’s what you get for calling me irrelevant
I'm sorry that you're still hurt by that. I thought you'd accepted my apology and moved on?
