Nagarhole Tiger Reserve is located in Karnataka, just an hour away from Mysore and about 4 hours drive from Bangalore. It's an ideal place to visit if you are looking for a short trip from Bangalore. The reserve is home to a good population of tigers, leopards, Asiatic Elephants, and Gaur along with several other species of mammals, reptiles, and birds. Nagarahole is contiguous with Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (Kerala) to its south and Bandipur Tiger Reserve to its southeastern parts.
Nagarahole is acclaimed as one of the high-density tiger populations in the country after Corbett & Kaziranga tiger reserves. It comprises of some amazing landscapes and marvelous streams, leaving wildlife enthusiasts and visitors astonished with its natural beauty.
The best time to visit Nagahole is just after the monsoons, between August and February when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant.
