I started 20 months ago and if I can offer this one piece of advice, write down your exercises, reps and sets (in pencil). When you lay it all out on paper like that, adding another rep here, another one there, it becomes addictive like earning experience points in an RPG game. You really feel the achievement when you watch those numbers go up.

    #Respect to Master Shredda.
Calisthenics has the following advantages over weights:
    1. Can be done anywhere, meaning a lot of time saved driving to/from gym
    2. Less taxing on your joints, meaning you can do them more frequently and easier to perform at older age
    3. More “Functional” real-world strength
    4. Simultaneously signals to your body to lose use weight [fat] while also building muscle. Meaning you develop a leaner, more athletic physique with less unnecessary bulk. With weights, I often feel like I have to add additional cardio to get lean.
***You can always add weight with weight vests, backpacks or even resistance bands to make the Calisthenics moves more challenging***

But for example, to be more efficient in gaining mass and volume, sometimes it is convenient to increase the weight even if you do fewer repetitions, on the other hand, to be shredded, the repetitions are very useful and are very important. I am working thru some lingering golfer's elbow so I can't do much pulling or pullups and whatnot, any suggestions on how to rid it?
