    Thanks Armand for another great video, love all your choices, especially the Jaws watch, first time seeing it

    I've honestly been checking out the 42mm Rado Captain Cook as a retro inspired dive watch at a great price point, especially compared to the new Breitling Super Ocean Heritage.

    Would've picked the Oris Divers 65 over the Longines at the end.

    That JAWS watch❣
    I imagine when the limited run ends,
    they'll do another run with the cyclops on the crystal.

    Just bought a Pelegos but I have to say all these are great less expensive alternatives.

    I received the Save the Ocean version of Seikos' King Turtle as a gift. A very nice, very casual watch. Looks great and feels good on the wrist.
    Also, I own a Superocean Heritage II on mesh bracelet. It really brings out the bling. But what I like most is the Tudor movement inside. I think it is a real step up for Breitling.

    Oh wow,Alsta really went nuts with the price.NH35 for such money?..No thanks,Yema with their own movement is much,much better pick 🤔

      not to mention its UGLY AF.... horrendous watch

      @ХристоМартунковграфЛозенски 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zoltan1251 I don't think it's ugly, it's angular. It's different, but not ugly. I agree with OP on the pricing, for that money they could have used an ETA (not sure about the 2892 though).

    • @Zoltan1251
      @Zoltan1251 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ХристоМартунковграфЛозенски you know when you buy some modern looking watch from Aliexpress for 5€ and you get more compliments on that than on your 5000€ Omega.... you should not be surprised when people will look at you sideways with this watch, but hey, if you you like it then go for it, its you who wear the watch, everyone have different taste

    • @ХристоМартунковграфЛозенски
      @ХристоМартунковграфЛозенски 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zoltan1251 Wait.... how does the price relate to the looks?
      Also, people generally don't look at your watch. Because the overwhelming majority of them are not WIS folk, so they don't care.
      Anyway, if you don't like it, good. We're not going to argue about watch aesthetics here, that's such a menial topic. I like it! Even though it's a bit square-looking, but hey, 1970s looks for you.

    Sometimes I think you have a direct line to my thoughts man! I’ve been seriously contemplating the Alsta, Aquadive and the O&W C1000 this year myself. While I’ll certainly end up getting one of them (and maybe all) - this summer I went with the Seiko SBDC061, aka MarineMaster 200.

  • @rpedroso12
    @rpedroso12 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    As ever, some great, original choices and a couple of unknowns for me to check out! I liked both the O&W and the Aquadive. One I'd have added at the lower end is the Certina DS PH200 - a stunner! As gripes, I wish the Longine was offered in a more authentic 39mm size (or one for my wife in 34/36mm!) and like a broken record, it must be said: Arrgh, that hateful Prospex logo!!! Why, Seiko, why?!

  • @edmundchiang
    @edmundchiang 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for your suggestions. I like your O&W. But I have taken the Oris clean ocean and Rado’s 37.3 mm Captain Cook on steel bracelets (a watch appears to be overlooked: Jamoshop is giving a 40% discount) for this summer.

    I do dive with Tag Heuer Aquaracer Gmt (Pepsi), and Paul Picot, Paul Mariner iii. The Aquadive in your selection is simply marvellous. Longines Skyn dive also Top, but too expansive considering its only with printed numerals..

    Very tempted by Omega sm300 master coaxial, only concern is that 15mm may be too tall- any thoughts?

    I personally find my Hydroconquest to be rather comfortable on the wrist. The only thing being the crown. The crown guards are large, sharp and therefore intrusive when you operate the crown.

  • @oes2546

    After two analogue divers (one auto and one HAQ) have failed on me after rough use, I think I'm changing "watch philosophy" to a smaller more elegant and comfortable dress/casual watch for everyday use, and a G-Shock for the actual heavy duty stuff...

    • @gianpakasa
      @gianpakasa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very interesting, cause I had 2 Gschock and they both failed underwater... But I like your point of view, it gives a complete different prospective.

    • @oes2546
      @oes2546 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gianpakasa None of mine failed under water. One failed due to extreme temperature + shocks and the other due to thermal shock (jumping in ice-water). Both due to the analogue movements I think.

    Sorry, but 'for the money' the Longines Hydro Conquest is a great value/purchase. IMHO

  • @roygardiner2229
    @roygardiner2229 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well............I am not a dive watch enthusiast, although I am not an expert as you are. So often it seems to me that there is a uniformity in the typical appearance that makes such watches a bit....well, boring.
    But here I liked all bar one one of these watches! The Seiko is more than a tad uninteresting,and represents the "norm" that I am striving to describe. However, all of the others were distinctive and seemed to be more charismatic than the usual offerings.

  • @Zoltan1251
    @Zoltan1251 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    i completely disagree with Longines pick.... Hydroconquest and Heritage diver are far better choices.... both of them are unique in their own right, Skin diver is just vintage omage and it will never be anything more.... sure looks good, but having fake vintage is not desirable, at least to me... Heritage diver is vintage style as well but doesnt have faux patina which i dont understand at all in watches... but thats just me

    • @johandebondt5749
      @johandebondt5749 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree. Got me a Hydroconquest 7 years ago and still would buy it (bezel is going ghost on me ;-). More modern take on a diver than the ones showed (and how not ergonomic??), although they have their own nostalgic charm of course, but not my cup of tea. Tho I got me a "Capt Willard"ish Seiko, but I rarely wear it; I rather sport a Padi Samurai or indeed the Hydro for my water activities.

  • @casualsuede
    @casualsuede 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice intro, but like 95% of SUV's never touching mud, 95% of diver watches never touch any water deeper than 5 meters. So buy the diver you want, and don't worry about the specs. Super Screw-down crowns promising hundreds of meters of WR, helium escapements, specific bezel action and ISO water ratings are not important...just bragging points.
    I am an advanced PADI open water certified diver and I use a $200 deep blue, a $250 borealis and $150 bulova and gigandet watches and it does just as well as a sea-dweller, let alone any of these watches.
