system, assembly and ensemble for MSc chemistry/ statistical thermodynamics/(types of ensemble)

I am an Undergraduate Physics student. I want to know if you meant that two different types of particles will belong to two different assemblies where both the assemblies belong to a single ensemble? If my concept is okay then will it be true that graphically in phase space each assembly will determine a different phase line? And this collection of number phase lines will determine an ensemble provided the macroscopic properties are same?
