Your cards are beautiful, but as a quilter I could not leave the threads unclipped. I love the burlap strings stuffed under the die cuts but would not be able to leave the threads. It's just me! Please don't take this as a negative comment because it was not how I intended it. I love seeing how creators. recover from mishaps. Glad you left it in and showed us it happens to us all. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous cards Dawn! I have not jumped on the bandwagon for the Letterpress, but your cards are starting to tempt me! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us.
I always get so much out of your videos! Such beautiful texture in your watercolors. Maybe talk about your color selection process- the blue for me is unexpected. Beautiful maybe that,'s why!
Thank you so much! I love to mix cool and warm colors. There was a lot of warm colors (yellow, orange, red) so I knew a little splash of a cool tone would set them off. Blue is always safe and the opposite of orange…but a purple would have worked as well!
Wow!! So gorgeous!!! Love that you admitted a splatter issue and showed us how to overcome the problem without starting all over or not even showing the issue!! ❤❤❤
😮WOW WOW WOW!!! I wish I would have mistakes like yours. LOL ❤ Girl, I love your videos! These cards are autumn beautiful! The colors are so awesome and your BetterPress inks matched Distressed colors beautifully without clashing or getting lost. Your ingenious idea of using the burlap threads are an awesome addition of texture. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing with us!! I love 💕 when you laugh at yourself. You make me smile and laugh with you. I actually loved your second card with the boo-boo. Both are beautiful!!
Dawn, these cards are gorgeous!!! I’m so sorry you had a Murthy’s Law incident, those can be so frustrating and dejecting. But I’m glad you stuck with the card; the end result was well worth trying to salvage your piece!!
I LOVE watching you use the Letterpress! You just help us think "outside the box" creatively with tools like this! Also, I appreciated your explanation for the watercolor technique of lost and found edges - I've heard that discussed before and never really understood how to lose/find an edge. - The lightbulb finally went off in my head! LOL
Dawn, I'm so glad you mentioned about the Better Press inks not beading up on the metal plates. I have the Vintage Labels dies from Tim Holtz, which are meant to be used in a similar fashion to the Better Press plates, as they have a debossing "line" around the inside of the cut line. Yes, they work without inks, but I really want to use them with color. But, when I have tried any of my inks - even Distress Oxides & Versafine Clair - none of them has worked well, as they've all beaded up on the metal dies. I was going to get a few tubes of oil-based printing inks like you would use with a brayer for linoleum block printing, as I'm pretty sure mine are not good anymore (they're several years old). Anyway, I might give the Better Press inks a try first. Should be much less messy than printing inks anyway. So thank you! Oh, & I like your cards, too. :) Seriously, I REALLY like your cards. I love the messy look you achieved, & I'm glad you didn't just chuck the first background & give up, but instead leaned into the new look. I'm also glad you were even able to! :) Thank you for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
absolutely beautiful card!
Wow. This is beautiful
Super great job
Wow!!! This is absolutely stunning!

No worries, we all have different preferences and taste. The world would be so boring if we all did the same thing! 💞

@@dawnwoleslagle9561 Yes please! 😆
This is gorgeous! Great ideas. I definitely would have stopped earlier and not gotten nearly as nice a result as you got in adding so many elements
Awe, thank you so much!
Stunning! Appreciate the “walk thru”!

Wow a master class in turning a 💩 moment into a brilliant card. I wouldn’t have ever thought to do that the results are stunning.

Agree with ruth, off the charts. Love your work. Could watch your tutorials all day.
The oops definitely turned into a wow!
Beautifull cards...you really cannot see the eaten away ink. I love the watercolor just by itself.
Your talent is just off the charts!! Loved watching your thought process and seeing the beautiful final cards!!
So glad to see the buttons: I have millions from journal making and love them added to cards

These cards are beautiful! You really illustrated the beauty of ink smushing.
Absolutely stunning card! 🥰 I was inspired by watercoloring, so beautiful!
