I cant believe people just walk into thrift stores expecting to find TOP QUALITY EXPENSIVE SHIT like Tripp nyc, demonia, doc martens. Like I've been buying from thrift stores for a while now and I've only found one pair of tripp pants and it was THE LUCKIEST SHIT. They're missing a button and they're 3x too big for me, also they were still SEVENTEEN BUCKS. I used to hate going thrifting with my friends and having them look at like 3 things and then get bored, I just have to go by myself these days tbh haha
I use to work at a thrift shop, I'm a goth/emo nerd, and someone donated there loot crate merch, I found Harley Quinn blankets,fallout merch, fluffy from Harry Potter, pop Funko,action figures,etc
Just a tip: In my city, and probably others, donations are distributed all over town, not just the nearest thrift store. Rich areas aren't necessarily better. That's true here. The one on the north side is kinda lame, but the consignment stores there are good. The best thrift store is in the more ghetto part of town. It's enormous, obviously carefully sifted (not picked over and full of stuff nobody wants) and they even have a lot of designer stuff. Also, go to busy thrift stores. If their parking lots are always full, they're always getting new stuff in and probably have more deals because they're making more money.

Went thrifting after watching your videos for inspiration, and it really helped! I ended up finding some crazy good finds, I got a really cool hoodie for $12 and when I got home I realized it was a brand name so I looked it up and found out it goes for like $85+
The coolest thing I found was a 5$ plaid pleated skirt and I ofc immediately bought it up but it was far to small for my waist so I just put it in my pile of donation clothes. I’ve also found a 3$ leather jacket, it’s a little large and probably not real leather but that shits still cool.

For example, if you go there on Wednesday everything will be less than 3€, if you go on Thursday - 2€ and less and I went on Friday and the most expensive item I bought was 50 cents. So I think another important tip is to know the discounts at local shops
Someone donates chunky leather biker boots to my thrift store. I guess they buy multiples?? Because it'll be three itentical leather boots in the same size. I go every so often and get some rompin boots.
I got my absolute favorite shirt at a goodwill. It's really boring and whatever, but it's very emo and very cute. It's just a black and grey striped shirt with half sleeves and a hood. I see other people find emo and scene band shirts and hello kitty hoodies, and yeah I'm jealous, but sometimes simple is good to look for.
i mean this in the LEAST exclusive way possible, but i DO think that a BIG part of scene is in the hair!! you could wear almost ANYTHING and make it look scene if you have that scene haircut. If you have curly hair but you wanna automatically come off as scene with as little work possible I rly recommend getting a wig :p there's obviously exceptions to this, but i will say it's gonna take a LOT more really intentional accessorizing if you wanna wear ur natural curls w a scene outfit, but it can definitely work!
Ive tried thrifting before and it hasn’t really worked out for me much because i have such a difficult time finding clothes that fit, specifically things like shorts or jeans. Most of my weight goes to my thighs and when i go looking for clothes, even the ones designed for body types like mine rarely ever fit. Belts dont even help a lot of the time. If it fits my waist, it doesnt fit up my legs and if it fits my hips then its a gaping hole for the waist. :(
The goodwill in my town is so damn cheap cuz everyone here is poor. Including myself, they have a 50% off everyday, and half the time it’s already 4-10 $. Barely anything is over 20$ unless is funiture, but clothes, toys, and shoes wise it’s 4-10$

I live in nyc so we have thrift stores that are expensive but have docs, damonias and name brands, but we also have big wear house ones where you pay a dollar a pound of clothes 😂 10 to 13 shoes 5 dollars a piece. My friends and I used to make a day out of it. I’m very lucky 💕

You can find cool things but it's not always going to be that kind of stuff. i'm glad the thrift store my family usually goes to always has at least one cool thing imo, I always check the belts and shoes sections because I found some pretty cool things there and I also customize dolls and collect furbys so I always check the toy section! I've heard of people finding furbies in thrift stores but so far I haven't found one. I have found a garfeild plush and this stupid little orange circle smily face plush with a witch hat (his name is The Scary Man). Recently I found a disney moana doll and I was so excited because she had such a cool face sculpt and a thicker body type than my other dolls, AND she was articulated pretty nicely. I'm currently turning her into a seal girl! I also got a new sand bath container for my hamster last time. Also i recommend checking the jewelry section, in my local thrift store it's mostly just mildly tacky costume jewelry but a lot of them contain cool beads and you can take them apart to use the beads for cool stuff!

i would recommend to go on days youre the least busy. its alright if that isnt like a discount day or something like that just if you want to go and have time, then you should go when you have that time because you dont know the next time you could. i dont know youre schedule so i cant say an accurate thing that will work for you but id just say go when you can and its alright if you only go to one or dont have time to look through absolutely everything.
