Andy is such a great salesman. I been back and forth on whether to buy this kit or give it a pass, and last month I buckled and pre-ordered one.
Same here. But it is a typical Normandy 44 vehicle and that is my main interest. Greyhound was a no brainer.
@@ytwos1 My interest has been SS armor which was why I was hesitant in buying this one. None of my references depicted this version used by SS units but this is a break from the track vehicles and should look good in a Normandy dio.
What happened to the tank factory dio?any progress?

What a wonderful Sd.Kfz. 234/2 Puma!! I suppose that in reality this AFV wasn't an easy vehicle to maintain with all those wheels that steered...
Nevertheless it is considered one of the best AFV in the war 👍👍👍

Das Werk make some of the best kits out there.... I just love them however, a full interior on this vehicle would have been interesting.
It would be interesting to hear from Andy if he asked Das Werk if they would be adding an interior guts accessory kit later on. Doing a repair site diorama with mechanics maintaining the Puma is a realistic consideration.

I have so many 1/16 kits to build... This will be a great addition when it arrives... (Pre-Ordered on Day-1... LOL) Now I'm just waiting to pre-order the M113... and excited to see what Andy releases next so he can take even more of my money!!! LOL

When I was a kid in the late '60s my dad had an 8 × 4 HO train layout, it was pretty cool. I remember buying HO scale plastic jeeps and other army vehicles to play with on the train board. Any idea on the manufacturer or where I might see some old photos of those? It's haunted me for years. Thanks!
Awesome! BTW, since Heavy Hobby has already released a 3D-printed engine (with fuel tanks) in 1/35 scale for the Dragon & RFM Sd. Kfz. 234 series, so they already have the research & CAD work done, I am sure a 3D-printed version in 116 scale is only a matter of time. Of course, a resin engine that size will not be inexpensive, and, unfortunately, I don't expect any manufacturer will make aftermarket engines & other interior parts in plastic & photo-etch (*). Why? Well today's plastic molds are pretty detailed, and plastic parts are far less expensive than resin. so an engine & other interior parts would be much more affordable for those who want to take the next step in detailing this kit, or adding accurate interiors to any other the many other 1/16 scale kits that have been (and will continue to be) released.
(*) Perhaps, if Das Werk plans on releasing the other 3 versions of the Sd. Kfz. 234 in 1/16 scale, then enough kits would be sold to justify coming out with a plastic * photo-etch interior (the sections which are in common to all 4 versions, e.g. engine, transmission, driver's stations, radio sets, etc.)?? The same would be possible if Das Werk intended to release multiple versions of the Pz. Kpfw. IV (some of the earlier short-barrelled versions please, as well as StuG, Jagd, Hummel, etc! lol), as well as the Pz. Kpfw. III. StuG III & related AFVs, and certain models of the Sherman as well as the Priest, Sexton, et ), etc., etc..
AFV Modeller in the UK has started ramping up their Resin accessories in 1/16th scale. no doubt you may see some for this kit there?

Nice review! The question I have is why aren't the side hatches molded separate?
The plastic barrel is for if there is ever a rerelease where they don’t/can’t/won’t invest in turning a load of aluminium barrel’s you would still have a complete kit.
Finally something to combat the Xion expensive one

Andy, si j'ai bien vue sur la notice la plus grande différence entre la version "expert" et simple c'est que les roues sont orientable avec "l'expert" alors qu'elles sont fixes avec la version simple. vous pouvez le confirmer ?
Andy, if I saw correctly in the instructions the biggest difference between the "expert" and simple version is that the wheels are steerable with the "expert" and they are fixed with the simple version. can you confirm this?

Interiors are a waste of money. You can't see them so why waste the extra effort?
I would have loved to drop the figure to add an engine. Open rear deck and no engine. So you know a later release is coming, this hobby is so predictable, has been for decades.
