Very much looking forward to part 3 and especially the jewel in the crown Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. So much history and arguably the most famous golf course after Augusta and St. Andrews. You are very lucky to live in Blackpool Stephen. Never a dull moment. One of the great pleasures in life is to cycle from Fleetwood to Lytham.
The Inn On The Prom will always be The Fernlea Hotel to me spent many a fantastic holiday in my childhood at The Fernlea with my parents. Some would say my Dad was a bit of a stick in the mud always staying at The Fernlea but I loved it as a kid usually 5 times a year including Christmas. Very happy days.
Thanks Stephen, another great video. The Island wasn't there in my time but the St. Ives and Dalmeny hotels certainly were. Been to a few functions at these in my time. Looking forward to Part 3.
I fitted carpets in Les Dawson's house around 1974, and his house keeper made triangle toast without the crusts on, and the tea came in a china cup and saucer with a teaspoon. ;-)
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool It was so small that it was hard to resist saying yes ok when she asked if we'd like some more. She was looking at the floor constantly as her spine was knackered, or she'd been a coal lady previously.
I lived in St Annes way back in the late 1960s residing at 2 Singleton Avenue and working at Hadley Motors which is now J & M cars in Hove road... A beautiful town which holds many fond memories for me...
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always I love st annes them houses looked lovely and probably very expensive the view from the beach was totally amazing take care xx
Les Dawson ....a true comedian!... I live in North Manchester not far from Harperhey where we have the late Bernard Mannings Club... another true comedian!.....
I am glad you showed the statue of our great comedian Les Dawson, one of my favourites. I knew he lived in St Anne's. I know this is going back a long way, but I think George Formby lived in St Anne's also Stephen. Going back before my time as well but very famous. I love those black ducks.
I worked at Booths supermarket in St Anne’s on Saturdays for a couple of years while I was at college 89-91 and then on the pier, summer of 1991; worked with some great folks!! 🙂I remember Les Dawson getting married at the white church….once saw him filling up his roller on Heyhouses Lane. Roy Walker of Catchphrase fame was a local too! Wonderful times! 😀👍
That was awesome Stephen I had to pause the video to take a better look at that stunning fountain.what a beautiful place. I love how you know so much about every place you take us and give us all the details. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again ain’t no one could replace you and how you make your videos I feel like I’m there it’s great. I’ll be watching these for years even when you retire😉
My aunt and uncle bought part of the Majestic hotels dance floor when it was demolished as it was a sprung floor and made their big garage into a ballroom complete with mirror all! Xx
Absolutely beautiful Stephen thankyou. St Annes is my favourite place to stay, nice to see it so busy early in the year. You passed the RLNI statue near the band stand 😉. Thankyou for the video x 😃
Talking about the les dawson statue . There going to be putting up the late loved Bobby Ball statue up soon in the lowther pavilion in St Annes who retired in st annes . Maybe you could keep a eye out for the unveiling and do a video

Yes Churchill stayed at famous majestic hotel which was very regal and one of the first hotels to have central heating apparently, but also where in 1926 American golfer bobby Jones stayed, when he played and won the open golf championships at royal Lytham, very renowned player.
Hi Stephen, just pointing out that George Formby lived at 199 Inner Promenade in Lytham St Annes. FY8 1DW. Great Video's from you as usual. Keep them coming. 👍👍👍👍

I loved Les Dawson. He was one of our best comedians. I know it is not PC, but I loved his mother-in-law jokes. Especially the one where she was kicked out of the Gestapo for cruelty. Probably today they would have been considered old-fashioned but nevertheless very funny.
