    Hi Craig, I'm 47 and tonight after watching your videos for the past few months I bought a Fermenter and brewed my first beer. I have a 21 year old son who by chance met me this morning outside the beer store as i was getting my final supplies, getting ready for tonight. I suddenly realized what i'm getting into i'm going to teach him as well this lifelong wonderful craft. cheers to you and your family from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Keep the vids coming!

    Your lesson for your son about brewing how it works best for you, and how nobody can tell you it's wrong, is also a beautiful lesson for living life as well. Cheers, Craig!

    Having your sons first home brew with him on camera? Fantastic idea! At the least it, would be an amazing video from him to show his kids some day and show them how he started home brewing. Love your videos Craig! You have taught me a lot...

    Man dude your attitude and passion for brewing is exceptional your video was the first one that came up on You Tube in 2012 and has changed my life in the way i look at brewing. I cant get pre hopped here in Lakewood Colorado but the brew shop is only a bike ride away 😉 so i brew the shop made kits and have no desire so far to go all grain, YOU SIR deserve a chalice of honor or something because in the four years i have been watching you still stick to your guns and for that I thank you

    Hey Craig. I totally get your enthusiasm. My son and I started brewing together about 5-6 years ago. Its been "our thing" from the start. We actually get our supplies from Complete Homebrew too! We are now gathering more equipment together to start all grain. Keep on brewing! 17

    Totally embrace your pride, having guided David through his first HB batch!! Milestone in a young mans life!! That day when he can have a pint of beer, looking at it and say: "Hey, I made this!!" Everybody deserves a father like you, my friend. 17!!

    Congrats Craig. My only surprise is that it took this long. My Dad introduced me to homecoming, now I introduced my son to homecoming. He brews regularly now. I'm sure this will become a family tradition in your family as well. Congrats. I can't wait to see you two try his brew.

    I think its fantastic that you and your son are sharing this. If criticism is given it's because of lack of knowledge or just plain old obnoxiousness and I would not give them the time. "Bravo, keep up the good work" Life is full of learning and opportunities such as this and this is something he will remember about his father for the rest of his life because it came from you.

    Hi Craig, I have some questions about the serving pressure. Some of the beers are supposed to be carbonated to 16,17 and 18 lbs. Do I leave it at that or do I bring the pressure down to serve. My system seems real foamy no matter what I do. Long line short line. It does not matter. By the way Long time fan!!!! PS. congrats on your son brewing. I wish mine would

    • @CraigTube
      @CraigTube  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My system likes to be at around 7 or 8 psi. Some people set theirs at 10 or 12 but that's too much for mine. Be careful that you're not over carbonating because that can cause foamy beer that ends up flat. Cheers and thanks!

      @Bottomdraggers 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is how it's advertised:
      Oxy-San is a no-rinse sanitizer for brewing equipment. It is a tasteless, odourless, eco-friendly, non toxic, biodegradable sterilizer. It is 3 times stronger than sulphite, but it contains no sulphites, soaps or phosphates.
      Contains: Hydrogen peroxide, disodium salt, magnesium sulphate.
      Directions: Dissolve 1 tablespoon in 1 gallon of hot water. Rinse equipment with Oxy-San solution and empty out excess. No need to rinse equipment. Residue contains brewing nutrients. Solution is non-effective after 12 hours.

    WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BREW? SMALL KITCHEN SMALL BUDGET WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST FOR FIRST BEER HERE IN USA? GOD BLESS 17

    • @CraigTube
      @CraigTube  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For a small kitchen, of course I'm going to recommend partial extract, or pre-hopped kit. That doesn't mean that you can't brew all grain in a small kitchen. My rule of thumb tho, is to start out simple and work your way up as far as you like. Some people brew all grain right from the start, and some people just stay with the extract kits. There are now rules regarding that. You're the boss. Cheers!

    In the beginning. ( that is sort biblical ) did you ever brew Gold Medallion? Gold Medallion was hopped malt extract in a can add your own yeast. It seamed to taste the best after three. Another thought. What was your first home brew?

    • @CraigTube
      @CraigTube  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not brew that. My first home brew was probably a John Bull pre-hopped kit.
