What The Costumes of Each DCU Hero Should Look Like

- As of the making of this video, we’ve finally gotten our first looks at some of the costumes of the DCU Mr. Terrific and Superman. This got me thinking of what the costumes of the rest of the DCU will look like and so that’s what I’ll be doing in this video, going over every confirmed character and some hinted characters who are important players in the DC Universe who has some sort of costume and giving my personal opinion for what I’d like their costume to look like.
I altered most of them but here are the credits for the fan art I showed in the video

Not sure if this is a popular opinion or not, but I really want Batman to have the yellow circle symbol.

Something I'm really glad both Marvel and DC of the modern era is doing is embracing more color and genuinely trying to homage the classic suits but still doing something new to differentiate things slightly
100% agree.
The duller colored and more “realistic” suits definitely worked in the early phases of the MCU, but I think the trend is so played out.
Also, the more “campy”, colorful, and simpler suits are objectively better.
It’s just a matter of translating them well from 2D art to live action

The Superman suit proves that comic accurate designs and the trunks work. So I desperately want a blue and gray Batman suit with a big bat symbol outlined in yellow and trunks.
Nah man,Superman with trunks is ok but Batman,really? He is supposed to scare criminals and they are supposed to fear him and you want him to jump between buildings in trunks?

Like I said Superman with trunks is great but Batman should be without them
@@toamszkozak8822 I think a more comic accurate suit would work with trunks instead of the all black armored suits he’s always had in movies. The bvs suit would’ve looked great with trunks where as the dark knight suits would’ve looked dumb like you’re saying.

Not only do I want the CGI white eyes for Batman, I want the brow of the cowl to be facial capture and CGI'd onto the actor's face. I want the brow of the cowl to be expressive in a way that is literally impossible to do in real life with real materials. The DCEU Batman comic brow kinda emulates that with the design of the cowl, but I want them to go all the way.
Go mechanical instead have a bunch of micro parts that move the eyes and facial features based on the users subtle movements.
@@AstraFulminous That's pretty much impossible and honestly feels like it'd just be doing practical effects for the sake of it rather than using the best tool for the job.

Making Booster Gold's suit obnoxiously muscular and fake-looking just like DCEU's suits is hilariously a perfect idea!
Man Thing in Werewolf by Night was actually a practical effect enhanced by CGI. You can look at behind the scenes footage and see there was a full on rig for the character being used. I think thats how they should do Swamp Thing
I suggest that Cassandra Cain's Batgirl mask can be like a bat version of Deadpool's mask.

not a bad design i do want the cap and cowl be blue with white eyes because i'm tired of waiting for them to do the 90s / 2000s look even the white eyes

I need Batman to have white eyes. Deadpool showed us that it can work.
Deadpool is a comedic character that benefits from having emotive white eyes. I’m not sure it would have the same benefits for Batman, who’s face acting is essential to get a deep sense of the character, like Pattinson demonstrated

Ehh it's different for a full masked character. Seems like deadpool 3 is gonna go against your point seminar apparently Hugh still doesn't wear the mask long
@texcorps9432 it's really no difference from a full mask to a partial mask the partial just has less coverage. Deadpool 3 doesn't contradict anything since Hugh Jackman hasn't worn a mask in a decade and they're heavily banking on his preexisting star power. Just watch the batman vs predator fan-film, they perfect the white eyes
@giosbizarreart9048 You're comparing a fully masked face with full intergeation of cgi tho. There's a reason it hasn't been done even with the modern day emergence of more comic friendly suits.
The point is Wolverine has a more similar mask to batman and their clearly not gonna use it for the whole movie because they don't have faith in its translation
my only problem with Barry being dead to start is doesn’t that mean we won’t get Thawne as a villain? i’m not the most versed with Flash comics but i love Thawne and i want to see him
Yeah Professor Zoom (Thawne) has no reason to be a villain in a movie unless Barry Allen is the Flash. They could do Hunter Zolomon as Zoom of Wally is the flash, but I prefer Thawne too.
I completely agree with you, Eobard is a better Flash villain than Hunter because of how petty he is & how much he hates Barry

This is a very valid point because besides us seeing him on the small screen on the CW we have never seen Eobard on the big screen unless they go the route of him appearing in a flashback fighting Barry's flash
@austindaniels4827 I hope so because it would be cool to see both Barry & Wally as the Flash fighting crime together like they did in the 2010 Flash comic when Barry returned
I wish Pattinsons batman was connected to the new universe, not immediately just let that trilogy finish and then bring him in and "spice" his suit up and maybe make him dark dark blue
I hope they don’t force this. Not only would it be better to let them finish their stand alone vision, neither Pattinson or Reeves want to do it, so their heart wouldn’t even be in it. Get someone who’s excited to be in a comic book role for a decade plus instead.
14:46 that’s a good point about Martian Manhunter’s form. I agree he shouldn’t look too alien, since he does choose that form to fit in.
However that’s exactly why I think he should be practical. The suit can easily be practical, so you just have to worry about the face. He can just have some prosthetics for green skin, a more pronounced brow, red eyes. It can def be done that way imo

I agree. Since they've decided to go with a more classic design for Superman, it only makes sense that the rest of the Trinity should have their classic vibrant looks as well. It would help differentiate them from the armoured designs of the Reevesverse Batman and DCEU Wonder Woman.

But would it not make more sense for WW to wear armor? Since, y'know...she's a Warrior from ancient times? If she wore her classic look for parades or publicity events then it would make sense in film. My main gripe is that I want her chest covered, no cleavage or boob armor whatsoever.
If they insist on making Damian Robin, I would LOVE to see a duo movie with Tim & Stephanie where he debuts his new identity. Call it [New Tim Identity] & Spoiler, have the logo for the film have their names in their respective colors, and make it like a crime drama or something, use Tim’s famous detective skills and Stephanie’s background. Give them a romance. PLEASE MR GUNN

Batman with blue and grey, the rebirth logo, would be great on screen, and I really want them to make a suit for Batman where he can cover his entire body with the cape, I want him to do it in live action

Batman should have the blue and grey suit along with white eyes, they can be mechanical and should glow in the dark and can even help him solve crimes like in the Arkhamverse, I also want them to bring back the classic yellow symbol.
I and the majority of DC agree that Wonder Woman with pants is a bad idea stick to the skirt or panties option

I hope you realize that just because one suit was done before doesn’t mean it can be done again, let Jason start out with his original design and with the guns. That’s iconic and perfect and we shouldn’t let Titans of all things keep us from seeing that on the big screen

I feel like if Batman has white eyes, give Midnighter a mask with exposed eyes. If Batman has exposed eyes, give Midnighter white eyes.
They’d be foolish to not use Static’s new design from the Nikolas Draper-Ivy run. He has multiple suits in that run and literally none of them are misses.

Maybe this is a hot take but if and probably will happen Wally does become The Flash eventually I'd love to see him stick to the reboot suit as i think it makes him stand out so much more and allows him to show off his red hair and it looks really cool. I also love Barrys N52 suit and hope we see that version but nothing beats the classic and i also sort of hope we still get the bearded Aquaman look as i think it looks so much cooler
We've gotten a lot of Joker looks over the years, I was hoping to hear what Joker look you would want for the DCU
Seems like every live action design takes the basic tenets of the Joker and creates a new look based on that. I'd either continue that trend or simply do something like to Arkham Joker.

Chestplate/Corset from the DCAU Justice League cartoon from 2001 to 2006.
Collar with the DCAMU from 2014-2019.
Amazonian Belt with the Red Star.
Star Spangled Underwear Panties like the combination of MCU's Namor & Corenswet's Superman suit but with adding 3 stars in the them.
- Green Lantern:
Make the Mask being Similar to the upcoming Fan Film that is not part of the DCU. since GL's Mask is way too much CGI like his suit.

I’d say for beastboy his red and white suit should come first depending whenever he joined the titans,it’ll show that he had just left doom patrol. And then. They work the purple and black in

As much as the Utility belt helps to fill in that empty space i still think Batman should have his trunks on like Supes.
A design somewhere Between the Earth One symbol and color scheme, the Arkham Asylum's overall design and the white eyes (with mo-cap) would honestly be peak Batman

I could see the trunks working for batman if its qn extreme close look of Arkham asylum and city but maybe blue to differentiate from recent live action adaptations
Unlike Superman, not showing muscle details in the suit will make Batman look like a clown and destroy the essence of the character in that he shows his strength and threat to Gotham's criminals, This is what scares me: they follow the same method as Superman's suit, or choosing a short and skinny actor for Batman, because the suit will look terrible on him.
Do This Type Of Video But For The Villains
For the DCU batsuit, definitely make it look similar to that 5:21. But make this batsuit fabric just like DCU Superman. Give the black cowl & cape that dark blue tint like the Arkham City suit, keep everything else black & grey. Definitely give him those classic black trunks, expose the batman jaw a little, make the whole suit including the neck flexible & movable for the actor. Also for the bat emblem: they should do the one from the flashpoint comic, but change the red to that classic yellow. Lastly for the white eyes, they should just do something just like the detective mode & the bat-sonar so we can have both real pupil & white eyes.
Could you do this but for potential villains in the DCU I know you did a few but I would really like to see your ideas on the other villains
To be fair to Titans Beast Boy, they did try, but the actor was allergic to the make up that shows/films use. Dunno if they could use a different base for the paint, but don't know the details of make-up for Hollywood.

For me, I want them to use the Knightfall look, as we haven't seen a proper comic book look for Bane in live action thus far.
Yeah I'd go for Bane's classic design, done through CGI making him larger than any real human.
i always say that imo bc the dcu heroes are a bit older to have Barry as the main flash but from the start build up wally to become the next flash from the first appearance
It makes no sense to do the trunks for Superman but not do it for Batman, they should match.

Great point about Martian Manhunter. I think the simplistic JLAS look is much better than more overdesigned recent looks. If you really wanted those bumps and lines to appear, they could show up while he’s in combat and not prioritizing maintaining his human-like form as much. That could maybe be neat.
Is the Flash suit in the DCU going to be similar to Grant Gustin Flash suit from season 9 of the CW Flash show? Do you think Lucas Till or Will Poulter should play him in the DCU?
We won't know until the flash gets confirmed to be in the DCU
I want Wally to be the main flash of this DCU but have him wear that rebirth flash suit, the one that’s basically a red and silver kid flash suit with his hair flowing and blue lightning, I think this will give him a distinct difference in Live Action than Barry Allen’s previous flashes, letting people know this is a legacy character

If james gunn does bring in barbara gordon as batgirl in his DCU, I would love for them to make a costume similar to the one we were going to get in the canceled batgirl movie, that's purple and yellow.
Turns out they are the Terrifics. I pray we eventually get a Plastic Man movie.
Since Superman is taking inspiration from kingdom come, i think Wonder Woman should too, like a long loin cloth on top of a longer shorts but they can add brown straps and make it more greek
i think the most important part of batmans suit is it needs to be practical, he needs to be able to move his neck and stays agile, i wouldnt mind seeing him covered in his cape to and then the next scene his cape is normal, who cares if it doesnt make sense its a cbm lol
My dream of the Batsuit is taking the base design of the Rebirth Batman suit, recoloring it to grey and blue (idk if I like dark blue or light blue), keeping the yellow outline for the batsymbol but maybe thicken it up a bit to really stand out, no trunks (I'm not a hater, especially after seeing them on the new Superman suit, but I think it helps create a visual contrast between how Batman and Superman present themselves to the world), the same belt design as Rebirth, a mix of the Arkham and Telltale Batsymbols, and I really, really, really want the cape to actually go over his shoulders so when he stands still or isn't running, it makes him look like a statue because that shit is very cool and can be very intimidating, making him look like he's gliding around when he does his investigations and shit. Oh and the white eyes. I think, seeing Deadpool and Spiderman's, we can make the white eyes a thing now

I like a lot of the designs but personally for martian man hunter I'd like if they went with his late 2000s/ Young Justice animated series look. The full black suit, with the red bandoliers and belt, blue cape and piping. Ive always thought that the way that version of his costume is color balanced looks really nice with the rest of the league

If Gunn doesn’t have plans of bringing back Shazam or Aquaman at all don’t be shocked if they’re recasted and (for the better) in a better cohesive world

I was really wanting to know about Ravager since shes had so many different costumes in the comics. My favorite being the red and black one she wore in red hood and the outlaws.

I love most (almost all) of these designs and ideas, especially for Tim Drake as both Robin and Red Robin (they better do him justice and not make him g@y). For Batman’s suit I wouldn’t mind if they basically made it like the Rebirth suit. Either that or the same suit that you made, because it is pretty badass. I also agree that Batman should forever leave the trunks in the past where they belong. For Superman it’s fine to have them and isn’t a deal breaker (although I’d still prefer he didn’t have them because I think trunks are outdated in general) but Batman needs to be taken seriously and feared. Mr. Terrific looks great in the set photos and the new Superman suit is kind of growing on me even though I still have some grievances about it. So I can’t wait to see what they do after Superman comes out next year.
Is the DCU Batman(played by Richard Madden) suit going to be a black suit with blue Coul and the Damian Wayne(played by Gordon Cormier) Robin suit going to be a samurai suit?
It's more than likely nostalgia talking, but for Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, and Beast Boy, just adapt the suits from the 2003 show, those were great
I think Flash should start out with the Rebirth design if it’s Wally and later on he gets is iconic design with the darker red and the white eyes. Deadpool has white eyes so I think it can work for The Flash very well.

IMO, they should just copy the Arkham asylum bat suit and put the rebirth logo on the chest along with the white eyes. This would make everyone happy.
