- In 1972, a tournament on one of the first digital computer games, Spacewar, was held between teachers and students at Stanford University in the USA. This event is considered to be the starting point in the world history of esports. Much has changed since then. Both the computers and the games themselves, and the level of competition. Next year, Saudi Arabia will host the first Olympic Esports Games. The International Olympic Committee is already seriously considering esports as one of the full competitive disciplines. Professional players earn tens of millions of dollars, and scientists have already proven the health benefits of mindfull and properly designed gamification. It is also a unique way to get information and communicate with people from other countries. But as experts say, the most important thing in computer games is to know the measure.
