It always makes me smile when archeologist say people of that time could not have possibly have that technology... Well they clearly did. We keep on underestimating the ancient people.
I agree. It's irresponsible.. I have a little bit of a theory on this. The more we rely on "new technology" wether it works better or not we lose the old knowledge. I use this comparison.. Today young cooks use sous vide to cook steaks to temp. While this is a precision method for getting a medium rare steak, we are losing the skill of doing it by feel. We absolutely have lost many skills, as well as knowledge through the millennia
Tell me how they did some of the things the did. Like melting 100 ton boulders together? Obviously they were smarter then you. Show me the technology today that can do this. I'll be waiting for your reply in anticipation.

@Meexi My grandfather's middle name was Enoch which got me started on the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha and New Testament Apocrypha. They are still of interest 50 years later. I also was interested in anything of the "supernatural" although many reports have been debunked. Genesis only hints at what Enoch writes. These writings provide food for thought. I won't say I absolutely believe them but can't say I disbelieve them either. Keep on questioning, maybe you'll find answers.

I know a professor of history from Switzerland, who once told, that the current model of the world is on far thinner legs, than the general public knows. It often happens, that discoveries that seriously challenge our view of the world, usually are seen as "mistakes" and end up in some drawer or shelf, without any furhter investigation. A lot of money and status is connected to such things and if you don`t want to lose fundings, everything you publish, has to somewhat be compatible with the current world view. Its like the problem with big empires, which create big burocracy, that loses its purpose to serve the people and instead turns into self sufficient existence. This all is very sad, because god knows what interesting discoveries have been made and never published, because they are too controversal. I personally remember this professor from the US a few years ago, who got fired, because he published a Triceratops bone with bone marrow or so in it, which makes it impossible to be millions of years old. But be careful about that last story, because my memory on that one is blurry and I am not a professional.

Many medical uses for plants and natural resources were lost when "witches" were purged and their knowledge was lost. I often wonder how many other fantastic inventions or advanced technologies were eradicated by conquerors, diseases, or natural disasters.

I have traveled too all twelve places in the past 5 year's, there is so many unexplained stuff in this world not to mention the vast oceans the has yet to be explored.

Therefore as we learn more some sciences change. With that being said no scientist claims to have an explanation for everything and if they don't know they say "we don't know currently" or something along those lines. Scientists certainly don't just make up an answer if they don't understand it. Religion on the other hand can just make bald face assertions of a God in any situation and they are allowed to interpret there stories however they see fit to make them apply to other situations. As a matter of fact they can't even agree on what God is.

The bible mentions giants in the book of Genesis
Funny, I don't see any canaanite 'bibles' or babylonian, or any other ancient texts being the #1 seller of books every year since books were first mass produced, or the most mass produced book every year as well. While at the same time claiming to be the Word of God. But that pesky ol Bible just keeps sticking around, never fading into history, why is that? Moses, a born Hebrew(unbeknownst to his uncle the pharoah) growing up in the Egyptian royal court, might have learned of these cultures while being educated by learned men, but he certainly didn't learn about monotheism from any of them, he got that from speaking directly with the IAM. He wrote the first 4 books of the Old Testament, which Genesis specifically mentions these 'men of renown,' but the book of Enoch mentions them as well with great detail, though not in the biblical canon when it was not included at the council of Nicea, odd since the book of Enoch is quoted at least twice in the New Testament. The Bible has more corraborating evidence as to it's authenticity, it's historical accuracy, it's word for word accuracy that no other book comes close to it, it's utterly laughable. In conclusion, it has stood the test of time in every category possible, religious, historical, relevance, accuracy, and literary.
and it's not the only book to do so. Many cultures have giants as part of their 'myths'. They were real, and everyone would know if not for the Smithsonian. If you find anything whatsoever, don't send it to them.

I find it disturbing that when structures are found and no one can easily explain what they were used for automatically they are categorized as a tomb/temple. Look at the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Egyptian Antiquities Department still categorize it as a tomb, when clearly it is not. Same goes for figurines when they are found, we don't know what they represent so they must have some sort of spiritual connotation. I mean seriously how stupid is that? Something was going on in our distant past (and I agree with Graham Hancock that we are a species with amnesia), that we don't remember because it was purposely erased from our recollections.
I dont think purposely at the start! I think it was collective amnesia to start and now these things are so out of our realm of what we call reality that keeping this evidence under lock and key they think is best for most of humanity collectively. It would be interesting to study the giant “bathtub” in Russia. First would be high definition laser mapping that would immediately illustrate the perfection or lack of perfection of the overall shape. Second would be identifying the source quarry of the granite. And a third comes to mind, that of a microscopic analysis of the surface to illustrate invisible tool markings or possibly the lack of tool markings altogether. These common and simple testa could illustrate where it came from, whether or not stone workers of the time could have made the shape with available tools and the type of tools that may have been required to make it. I am obviously leading to a supposition that the item most reasonably was not made in Russia in the 19th century but more probably was relocated from some Egyptian source where similarly magnificent and precise stone work exists and has yet to be explained to any degree of scientific satisfaction.

Surely if you somehow obtained a whole bunch of maps from across the globe when you tried to join them up you would use the more defined land masses. When you join one side to the other either the Arctic or Antarctic would naturally become the centre. If Japan was a map on its own with only a small amount of detail with any other land mass it would be possible to mistakenly put it 90* out of sync.

Exactly! I've thought this for a long time. Who's to say another intelligent species hadn't emerged in the distant past. I've heard other stories of strange metallic objects embedded in coal that were supposedly millions of years old. I think it's not out of the realm of possibility that there was another tool using intelligent animal a very long time ago. People seem to almost get offended by this notion when I bring it up, humanity is so arrogant. These hypothetical animals probably never got to the level of civilization that we have today and any remnants of them would have been wiped clean by geologic forces. It's a fun thing to think about.
