The venue set-up and format aspects look great. But I think the team has fallen short on promotional activity. I follow chess everyday and I still don't where to follow the games. Let alone the general public. All the metaverse and app gimmicks will be used only if people engage. I really hope this blows up and is tremendously successful, but ideally such a big league should have been all over the media by now.

I, being a chess fan, have been trying to dig out the answers to these questions and still have ended up with no reliable info.. forget about the general public. 21st of June has been the marketed date till now but the schedule shows that the games will be beginning from the 22nd. So, will there be an opening ceremony on 21st? Will there be side events? And if yes, then where would it be broadcasted if at all? If not then why is 21st being marketed as the date of commencement for us? I have not seen a single advertisement of GCL on Jio Cinema or wtv, which they should start rolling out a month prior or at worst a week. The games are starting tomorrow. So, how are we actually expecting it to reach the general masses? It's frustrating and upsetting.

Looking at samay talking with such a respect and Anand sir giving all the credit to samay while all were trying to get attention is the best thing to watch!
