  • This is a video showing how to take off / remove the tunnel on a Caterham 7. I was unsure how to do this the first time I did it so hopefully this video will be helpful to some owners.

The seats are mounted only to a sheet metal? That doesn't look to sturdy. I'm building a Locost from scratch. Most likely I will add some cross bars, where the bolts will go though the bottom, of the car. Thanks for showing how that center console is build. I always wondered, how the arm rest is so tall and rounded. Beneath is still flat, good to know.

Hi I'm glad it was helpful. These are the floors I have.

The bolts that hold the seat in are just to hold the seat in. It’s the seat belts that hold you in, so you don’t necessarily need massive bolts or cross members to secure the seat to. In the event of a crash. The belts stop you from going through the windscreen and the seat bolts stop the seat from coming out. Hope that makes sense.
