Only true sneakerheads know Jordan wore the mids in 85. He said it restricted his movement on the ankle area so Nike made him the mid cut & sold the high's to the public.
They were a little bit lower than the '85 highs, but still higher than today's mids, if i had to make a comparaison i'd say that '85 mids are today's highs

Most people don’t know this, but Michael Jordan’s first pairs of Jordan 1’s that he played in were actually Mids that were custom made for him and not Highs, as he liked them that way better.
