The fact that they were still together after the cheating occurred and that he was clearly trying to "make things work" again is, I think, a sign of somebody who's willing to work on their relationship. I understand the anger, but "branding" someone for life with something that horrible is, to me anyway, unreasonable. And I'm by no means justifying what he did.
