imagine if it also made them move 0.5x faster, but had a trade off, like it only lasts 11 seconds, and takes 10hp to activate.

on the other hand ...the terran played this out very well. Okay, hi did not harass but he built up his army and waited for the fatal blow not over extending at all.
This episode was 100% wholesome. In the end we have a happy ravager.

I had a game, couple of days ago where zerg lost macro game and was so freaked out and blamed protoss to be imba(even though I didn't even play air) and race for all unskilled players... @Harstem, Sir, how can I send you a replay? I feel you wagabooga. Terran turtle into mech is so hard to play against.
Try Nydus worms to annoy him if you can't storm through the front door.
Or use "wooop wooops" to grab the tanks or other high tech units. Not easy to pull off, but more or less the best you can do
Out expand him, spread creep like crazy, and get spell casters. And try to deny expansions. Terran mech armies are very expensive to remake.
And don't throw away your banes into armored units.
Swarm hosts are also pretty good if you see your opponent going mech
@@nyx211 That's what I mean though. What you described is just much harder to do. Lots of expansions + mage units means lots and lots more APM.
@@meltorak123 That's just how the game is. Some army compositions require lots of APM, micro, and skill while others are F2 + A-movable. Terrans have similar complaints against the protoss deathball containing storms and disruptors.

Harstem prediction at the start, of common zerg complaint turned out correct. Zerg player have 97 workers with 58 army vs terran with 33 workers and 150 army
A Zerg player will often look at this scenario and wonder how could they possibly lose

i remember being annoyed by mech and i saw my replay turns out i make lings and banes and the next match i came across the same dude and i changed my comp to hydraroach viper with some lurkers and kick his butt by runbys

I got into this situation several times, then I accidentally thought that, thor and tank is really slow, so, just ignore them, and destroy anything else, except go directly to them (especially scanner, then build some lurker or infestor can be another option).
It would be really cool if you could suggest improvements as well in future videos. Like what should the zerg have done, besides building vipers?
His early game could be much better.
- First his scouting was really late. If he sent his 1st overlord straight to the terran's natural instead of around the edges he could have seen that it was a 1 rax expand a lot sooner.
- Second his attack could have won the game, or at least put the terran behind, but he didn't commit. He put himself behind on economy to get out a bunch of lings and then a bunch of roaches. The lings scratched a depot and maybe killed 1 scv, the roaches did even less. Then he finally started droning but the terran had already had a better eco for ~4 minutes by then.
he should not have move commanded his whole army back and forth on top of the mass thors and tanks

Nothing really happened during this game. Zerg was sitting on his army and didn't attack and the terran simply amassed an army and went to the other side of the map. What was supposed to happen?
technically zerg attacked a bunch of times, he just kept losing his whole army without killing anything.
Terran mech is so heavy it was supposed to drop into them sewers :]

Banes only good for clearing hellbats.
It takes 26 Banelings to kill a +0 armour Thor. Literally the worst unit to make against mech in the game.

It would be nice if, after roasting, you could add a bit more info for how to actually do something correct. I now still don't have any idea which composition to use and how to use it to beat this terran mech composition.

the mutas were actually the mvps for him, they have done the only economical damage... but only because he threw again a ton of lings and banes at the same time for distraction xD
I'm a gold zerg player, and since I have been getting better at using vipers Mech is the easiest thing for me to win aginst...
Sky Toss is much worse than mech.
You using blinding cloud or yoink? I find this army very difficult to deal with usually because the cyclone hellion puts me behind then they transition into Thor, tank, Lib. Like even if I go after their eco if the unit count keeps growing the army can get large enough it’s hard to stop outright. On the flip side I find skytoss challenging but with a lot of play against it and there’s cool interactions with the tech rotations to get ahead.
Mech really feels like a brick wall. In gold I just made lurker hydra roach and squashed them fairly reliably but in diamond i hit a brick wall. I think it’s largely because I suck against cyclone hellion which just feels so oppressive.
I just always feel I am lost on what to build.
Making the tank really great could be a valid strategy if he's "An Army of One".

The worst part is that, his oponent had only ONE siege tanks i think later. So if he was making just roaches i think it would be better outcome...
Harstem is brutal
Imagine your oponent doesn't do anything, instead he gives you a loaded gun. You can end it then and there, but instead you drip the gun, it fires in your knee and you surrender.

You make immortals and chargelots. This works even when they have tanks with Thors.
@@Nightwalk444 thors are usually accompanied by a fuckton of hellbats and they just get roasted like no tomorrow with blue flame and then immortal don't have zealots to tank thor shots for them. How would you deal with that as toss?
@@jn278 Disruptors. Also, these new Void Rays trade much better against Thors if they use Prismatic Alignment.
Against mech you want to go melee + ranged rather than carapace.

I feel like there is a big point missing in this videos. For me claiming that something is imba doesn't mean that it is unbeatable but that the strategy is much easier to follow then the others. For example Harstem said that there were no vipers used in this game which are hard counter. It's true but vipers are much harder unit to control then mechas. So mecha terran has to put much less effort to win then a zerg in that scenario and that's why it might be imba...aj kant spik inglisz :DDD
The point harstem is doing with the series is pointing out how many mistakes were made and that the imbalanced complaint is often a scapegoat to mask a bad match. In this case having an army, supply or comp advantage arent stagnant values if you have an early army advantage and do nothing with it, its really not an advantage, it means your econ has suffered for no reason having an army which can harass early vs an enemy doing literally nothing and not taking that opportunity is a harder throw than any unit imbalances.

If the replay was from the terran, it should say "Nikondi has left the game!" After the zerg left
Since the replay is cut short after "Wagabooga has left the game!" And "Nikondi is victorious", it should mean this is the zerg's

I play bio over mech because it’s just more fun to play. I like Clem’s play style, even though I’m no where near that level.
This is the kind of zerg that is diamond because in lower leagues people are passive and zerg need to get harassed very fast and non stop. Then, they play people who starts to be aggressive or at least attack at the right time like this terran and gets put back to their platinum (or even lower) level.

I think he was pretty good: he had good macro, lots of bases and drones, he did have good shots with the Ravagers, he just made a couple of bad calls that costed him the game (it looks like it's not like all people say: you can make several mistakes with Zerg and still win). Just a bit of better decision making and it looks like our friend can go way way better.
Yeah compared to the average player he was actually not bad. But his army composition crafting is really dumb. He knew T had tanks for the entirety of the game but he insisted on making roaches.
Really he lost the game in the first couple of minutes. Really bad build and execution. He was essentially playing as if he was doing an all in, then did nothing with the units he had
@@PotatoMussab exactly. I don't play SC2 but it seems like that, compared to other things like macro or micro, it's a bit easier since you can study beforehand the counters and then just apply accordingly.

actually the ai usually has their first attack at around 6-7 minutes so better than the terran here lol
