Wait a second... has jason_cpa never heard of excel's Power Query!?! The no-code, low-code data tooling that has been built into Excel since version 2013? Its like an accounting superpower. Spend a few minutes to a few hours building an easily reviewed and maintained set of "reformatting" instructions and save hours or days of manual prep every week/month. Grab data from the web, from other workbooks, or even a named range or table within the workbook and instantly transform it into whatever you need. Its easy enough to have Power Query crunch a million rows of data and automate journal entries, but lately GPT has been helping me write advanced Power Query transformations. Current project is datascraping PDF documents for mentions of specific tax forms. Edit: Clarified PQ usage.
Hi Jason, Been following your videos for the last few days. Incredibly useful. thanks for sharing. I have a question for u - I run a news letter regarding AI and amongst other things want to help a few accountants to start using chat gpt. Can I add the links to your channel in my newsletter. If so, could you let me know if they should start with any specific video or sequence that could be useful?
Data transformation - functionality similar to parts of power query (excel) and column type = column by example but much easier. @jpbraker850 agree! MS Copilot might help users with DAX formula language - we’ll see. VB script - interesting idea! Future with persistent data/memory could really expand use cases like in your example of 50 transactions to real world volumes. Thanks for sharing!
🔨On the head with the developing the prompt engineering skill comment!!! I literally have WWGPTD bracelets ordered because I am changing the way my employees think. As they sharpen those prompt engineering skills they will automate more and more tasks.

USA dates are the worst. I know that comment was rage bait and it worked
Gotem
@@jasoncpa just realised I need to ask GPT for an excel formula to fix USA dates that tools export. That's where most of the pain comes from
How many accounting firms are there in USA , I have been doing a survey. let me know if anybody can help me
Ask ChatGPT 😏
Not me having flashbacks to my intern data entry days....😵💫
