Awesome review man! I was planning on getting a stealthcraft, but ended up finding an nrs outlaw for a good deal. The weight is the main thing I'm a bit worried about though as it's even bigger than the hooligan xl. Planning on guiding smallmouth in MN. Can't wait for summer!
Not looking for spot burns but I have a drift boat with a 4hp motor. I’m fairly new to the area and am hoping to get some info on which rivers you’d recommend floating for trout?
Thanks for the review. I have been looking at this model after riding in one on a guided trip and have been in some of their competitors boats, this just confirms what I have been thinking. Thanks for your honest unpaid opinion. I like that duck bill front for the cooler. What size cooler were you able to put up their?
Was considering Flycraft but assuming that's the competition you refer to? Want something light enough to get on top of an SUV. Sounds like the Hooligan is a bit large for that?
Would these inflatable rafts work for Maine ponds or some of the streams? I would love to have one if they work good but I fish a lot of backwoods streams and ponds for Trout. Are they sturdy or is there any concerns of it capsizing? What's the weight capacity of these? I was looking online and one of them said the weight capacity was like 2000 pounds?
I fish the kennebec in mine all the time. It’s very stable and can fish 3 men no issues. If you have to drag it far that’s the problem. This one is a bit heavy for one guy to manage.
@@mainetroutwhisperer I fish the Kennebec and Sebasticook every year. I have a lot of decent Trout holes around Moosehead that I go to. I fish a little of everything and wasn't sure if these would work.
@@mainetroutwhisperer ok bc the Hooligan XL is only 4” wider than the Flycraft 3-Man “Guide.” Comparing the XL to the smaller 2-man by Flycraft seems unfair. Not apples to apples. I’m trying to find someone who’s had extensive experience with both the XL and Flycraft’s Guide that can share informed thoughts. My only concern with Flycraft is how well it’ll do in rapids. It’s rated for Class III and it has more rocker than Stealthcraft’s rafts but I’m still unsure. I’d love to find out how tall each of them are. Either way thx for the great vid. Good to get a review on this one. Is there anything else the Hooligan does or has that motivated you to pick it over a Flycraft?
No regrets! Every time out in the raft is a great time
Just saw this video, I been guiding out of the regular Hooligan and two fly fisherman can fish with me rowing. Stealthcraft is quality.

What is your guide service called? Might have to take a trip.
“pumped out” like and subscribed for that!
I have to know what "competitor" model you were referring to because I think I know which one. Is it one of those Crafts that Flies? [hint hint]

I think it’s the 30 but it hangs out quite a bit. Smaller would be better
@@mainetroutwhisperer Thanks for the info!!
I am trying to wrapy my mind around their self-baling plugs. Could you take them out in the middle of the river to drain water?
No. I leave them in all the time. If you’re in heavy water or heavy rain just leave them out. Only so much water will sit in there
the rubber appears to be made in the same factory as Saturn Rafts.

Yeah. The XL is pretty heavy. The standard hooligan would be fine. The flycraft is very light, but you also pay for that with stability I’ve found.
@@mainetroutwhisperer Any idea how much the XL weighs? Website shows 150lbs...Great review!
@@claytonj7590 one rugged guy on each side can lift it but it’s more than 150
How is it to fish solo out of ? Operation and fishing ?
It’s awesome. If you don’t have a trailer with a winch like a boat it’s tough loading, but can’t be done. I’ve done it a bunch
@@mainetroutwhisperer Good news. Will you say what price range one all set up like yours a person would be looking at?
Thanks for the review. How much did you have to pay for shippong
I am looking at the hooligan and the Saturn with the NRS frame. The hooligan looks more rugged. How much did they charge for shipping?
You would have to call them to discuss that.
I bought a Hooligan XL three weeks ago. They were waving shipping.
How much did u pay for it bud?

Any opinion on River Rat Rafts.
I haven’t tried or seen one in person myself
Did you check out a flycraft in person? I can't decide lol.
Yes. I’ve been in one a few times. This is built much better and much more stable.
@@mainetroutwhisperer thanks!
@@mainetroutwhisperer do you know which one you were in?
@@tj6111 I tried the 2 man

What weight Tornado are you using? Thanks
I’m using a 40lb now. We fish some heavy water and works well with 3 guys.
wow, nice ......
